sosick, I'm amazed you are able to take all those things, especially since you still have amalgams. Many of the things you mention can make people much worse, even without amalgams. Because they serve mainly as mobilisers and can stir mercury up wildly. I've heard of people become almost totally debilitated by using some of those things (even without amalgams). Garlic, chlorella, cilantro, MSM, etc are examples of what can really cause problems. Because they are high sulfur (aside from cilantro). Some people do ok on high sulfur, others can be hurt badly by it. But again, it is usually recommended to never use any mercury mobiliser until you're free of amalgams.
This is because they can encourage further uptake of mercury from amalgams and then from there stir it around. Once the amalgams are removed, even then, it is usually suggested to do things very carefully and safely. One such safer protocol is one suggested by biochemist Andrew Hall Cutler. He strongly advises against many of the products you are taking, due to what he's seen in many people who have used them. DMSA he does recommend, but only after amalgams are out and then it must be taken every 4 hours around the clock for a few days straight, to keep blood levels even, so enabling safer and more consistant mercury removal. The inconsistant mobilising can cause further damage by bouncing mercury around and from there it can go into nervous system, brain, anywhere.
Cilantro is supposed to clear brain/nervous system mercury, but if the body / blood mercury is still high, it can shunt more mercury into the brain in the process. The key is apparently to remove amalgams, then use a chelating agent that does not pass over the blood brain barrier, but will clear the blood burden of mercury first (e.g. DMSA, or allowing the body to drain the blood naturally by itself which is FAR slower) Then later it is safe to use a product that can clear brain mercury (e.g. alpha lipoic acid, taken the same way as DMSA or more often) AGain he only recommends frequent safe dosing to keep blood levels even to avoid redistribution of mercury.
Some people seem to do ok whatever chelation they use, but many do not and can end up far worse for it.
The only thing he recommends whilst a person stil has amalgams is supportive supplements and treating candida and avoiding bad dietry habits and allergens like gluten.
Russ recommends people use algin even with amalgams as this serves mainly to help mop some mercury and can help with symptoms. He recommends vitamin E and selenium and I think vitamin C. But that is it until amalgams are completely removed.
