... for all of your time and effort. The internet has informed me and quite possibly saved my life.

I am so sick, no joke. But at least i am not dead yet and there are a couple dentists who will regret that even though they worked very hard for my demise.

Is there a forum in here for lawsuits against dentists, any ideas about class action suits against the ADA?

Sosick, glad you're here! Many of us are in dire straits too because of dentists and/or other things adding to it.

I think the forum owner Russ Tanner will be able to help you with some advice regarding law suits etc. He's more up on that kind of thing than I would be. I HOPE something can be done for you, because there is a lot of anger amongst people like us for what we have been put through by the dental profession, on top of actually financially almost crippling ourselves in the process.

For me to even remotely function, I have to be on a specific diet. Many on here are doing the same now. You may know about it, but it helps reduce the toxic load, reduces candida in the body and aids the immune system, and helps you handle whatever other issues are going on. May not be a cure, but it's all I have for now until I can find out what is REALLY going on. Mercury is only part of it for me, I have apparently got cavitations (jawbone infections), from having wisdom teeth removed. The dentist and oral surgeon used a vaso constrictor (which reduces blood flow) in the local anaesthetic, this in turn can cause cavitations because though the vaso constrictor acts to keep the numbing for longer, it can frustrate healing afterwards and it is crucial to have a good blood flow for healing to take place. So in reducing blood flow as much as it does, bad things can happen. It can also contribute to killing teeth so I hear. Not sure how true that is.

On top of this, most of them do not remove the periodontal ligament after they have extracted the tooth. That is what was holding the tooth in place. This ligament then gets left to sit there and rot. So in doing that, it can cause cavitations too because the bone is not able to heal over properly. They call this problem gangrene. Basically it is rot in the jaw and it does not always cause obvious symptoms like swelling or pain and the poor person can be totally unaware that there is a problem. Many people may have it, but their immunity maybe holding the bacteria in place. But it can become systemic and cause chronic illness.

So you see, a person can be crippled physically by some simple dental procedures and not even know it. They are also hard to detect and are often missed on xrays etc. So it's like working in the dark. Some people have had miraculous recoveries from having them surgically cleaned out, others have not. It's touch and go and expensive and devastating.

So it isn't just mercury that is ruining people, it's their other procedures as well that can impact a person, sometimes even worse than mercury!!!

Take care and maybe you might find the diet many of us are on may help you in the meantime. Not easy because you can go through a detox once you start it and get worse temporarily. But it maybe worth it.

Bex.

Oh, I am well aware of the other 'procedures'. What truly angers me is that I have been on a 'special diet', for the most part, for many years. I left NYC in 1990 with bleeding lungs, moved to Florida, lived in the fresh air and cleaned up my diet many years ago. I had healed, many years ago. I was the fittest most active 47 yr old you ever met up until 5 months ago. I went to a dentist with a mild complaint of a toothache, he diagnosed it as another tooth... we argued about it even and why I followed his advice to do the root canal bewilders me to this day. Mostly I was busy and I wanted, WANTED, to trust his opinion as a professional.

Needless to say I lost the toothachy tooth which developed a major abcess due to his neglect, I lost the root canaled tooth due to his lack of informed consent (none whatsoever) about material used and the problems that developed rapidly due to his sloppy work. I went to another dentist seeking relief, had the two teeth pulled there (sloppy extractions job, cavitations the Dr (my MD Dr is great) says, and had that second dentist start work on a crown for a molar with a 35 yr old amalgam filling... which must have dumped egads of mercury into my system because within 5 days I could barely walk and almost lost my kidneys... I have had constant swollen glands on that side since that day, and an earache... first earache in my life... and it is costing me egads of money att he Dr for tests and EDTA chelation and other stuff to go along.

day after day after day, most of my time is now spent taking this or that food supplement or vitamin in the proper order to chelate or renutrient and I feel like crud... far as i know I can pretty much write off this year of my life as concerns major physical activity and hopefully, hopefully, bacuse there is no guarantee, I won't have permanent kidney damage, muscle damage or similar.

To make matters worse, and contributing to the whole mercury/infection dilemma, i have a plastics sensitivity and both dentists used acrylates in my mouth when they should have used glass ionomers. The root canaled tooth is gone but no guarantee a residue doesn't remain, I have slight nerve damage from the root canal, like pin pricks in my face, I get hard acne like sores in that area on my face now (between lip and nose, was a bicuspid), have difficultly chewing food, have been without even a temporary crown on the still prepped molar since January, and have yet to find a dentist who will take all of these matters seriously and actually help me.

In my twenties Iworked extensively with plastics, many of the same chemicals dentiost put into your mouth with the white composites. I can assure you, I know full what what these items are and I also know full well that in my field of work, the same chemicals that dens\tists put into your mouth are considered quite posionous by OSHA. In fact, as mentioned, I stopped this work in 1990 because of bleeding lungs. What angers me ios that most dentists do not not seem, truly do not seem to be aware of the toxicity of plastics.

I should have raised up my arm and simply slapped that dental technician when I smelled the resin she was aiming at my tooth.

OMG, that is a total nightmare!!!! But sadly, so often I have heard similar horror stories (my own included). I feel honestly that my health is actually permanently damaged, though I don't attribute all that to dental work (I was infected by a bacteria/virus in 2003 and never recovered), but part of it is dental toxins too and possibly cavitations.

You sound like you are well up on all this and when you have suffered as you have done, it is hard to even know what to say. I too have problems with both amalgams and it seems plastics too. Not sure though what is causing what, so many things are amiss, I'm bewildered.

I am now going for cerec porcelain. They all contain toxins, no such thing as an ideal dental material, but this seems to be the best I have heard so far. It is not quite like other porcelains and it seems toxic people on this forum who have had this replaced are doing ok and improving.

So I maybe getting that. Also, one bonus, it does not tend to leach out its components. I don't really know what else to go for. Every material I bring up, someone will tell me it's bad or this or that. They are only trying ot help of course and I don't blame them, but somewhere along the line, I have to go for something. It's going on and on and it seems there is no ideal material. I'm going for this because of the fact it's not a plastic and it's harder and as I said, less likely to leach.

It's highly expensive and it's sickening what they charge for it. They are getting rich off patients and this should not be so. I know they have to make a living and part of this is paying for their overheads too which would be highly expensive, including equipment etc, but the costs are often absolutely outrageous and not justified most of the time.

They really do not have a good name at all. I remember one guy was so angry with what a dentist did to his teeth (he pulled out the good teeth and left all the bad ones), that he tried to murder this dentist by trying to run him over and I kid you not. Tha'ts how outraged this guy was. He ended up in jail of course. Not sure if he hit the dentist or whether he accidentally got another man instead. But certainly it was over the dental work. and he just lost it.

So yeah, horror stories out there for sure. Also it is frightening when you hear that people have gone to different dentists to get an evaluation on what they need doing and EVERY dentist has said something entirely different and their charges are totally different. One girl did this and in the end she didn't know who to trust. One dentist told her her teeth were fine, didn't need a thing done except a clean. another dentist said she needed 3 cavities filled. Antoehr dentist told her she needed a crown, a root canal and 7 teeth filled and on it went.

So yeah, most people do not trust them. I am sure there are some good ones out there, honest and truly devoted. It's the rotten incompetent ones that spoil it for the rest.

So yeah you're not alone in your justified anger! I hope you can get something rectified, as i hope for others on here as well.

Far as I know, the Cerec porcelains use the lethal methacylate resins to adhere to your tooth. I do not use the word lethal lightly. I spoke to a dentist that does them, he said a glass ionomer adhesive would cause them to crack.

Any info on ziconia which uses the glass ionomer adhesives?

I am also playing with the idea of going hillbilly and simply leaving the teeth out. They are in the back mostly. Lack of chewing ability I am aware but after all I have been through the idea of tempting more problems scares me a lot worse.

Did you read this thread, Radioactive Dental Fillings:

http://herballure.com/ubbthreads/sh...&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Not sure I need anymore radioactivity close to my brain, I probably have some already.

Yeah true, but anything I use will most likely need that for the bonding agent. I am not sure about glass ionomers either, I hear some people have issues with those as well. One biologic dentist advised me against them. I already have a few in my own mouth, which he thinks maybe causing some of my issues. That I do not know. Could be some of the composites though.

I figure that at least the bonding agent will be much less than having an entire composite. It will also be underneath and not so much exposed to hot fluids etc.

NOt sure what else I can do, I seem to react with whatever goes in!

Yeah I read that link. You can't win. It's just a nightmare.

This link is pretty good I thought

I don't agree with their comments on candida though, as I feel that definitely needs to be dealt with. It's been a horrible thing for me along with the mercury and other issues. I HAD to deal to it. Still do. If I let it grow more, I end up being close to being committed.

I have heard of Zirconia I think. Supposed to be VERY biocompatible. One of the safest and best I hear. They have zirconium implants to replace teeth, and I think you can get it for dental material replacement also as fillings.

I used an herbal candida cleanse product about 20 years ago and have never had much problem with it since. Must have been a good batch, also the vaginal yeast suppositories they make for women are suppose to be very effective and I do believe I have heard that they can be taken orally for a short time, check that though it's been years since i looked in that area.

too much sugar maybe causing yeast to propagate? I haven't used much sugar in years either though I love a good ginger beer and cheesecake too... but very limited on sugar here, mostly because it's a B-vitamin user upper, I use honey or stevia instead. Not diabetic, just my preference. I know simply that too much sugar, raw or processed cane, can really throw your body off track.

I think it was maybe niacin and the herbal cleanse that I used together way back then to knock out the yeast. Horrible going through that cleanse program but worth it. Takes a few weeks.

I have no idea what to do about the dental work. i am at a loss. uranium has a half-life of 60,000 yrs I think, and, what they're not telling you is, in very small amounts, uranium's effects start to be seen only after about 40-50 years.

Check info about people who work/live in places where uranium was/is milled for weapons grade material. Not pretty. It's weird the dentist's themselves don't object to handling it isn't it? Like they are immune or something.

I am going to get a little gieger counter to take to dental visits.

I think I agree pretty much with that article as it stands. Only a very strong desire to be well and eat well has kept me through the years. Nutrition is a must if you have have amalgams I think.

Spirulina and chlorella at the top of my list, tying for the top spot with Vitamin C, the calcium buffered powder type, follwed strongly by E, Folic acid and the rest of your B's, whey protien, magnesium and nutrional yeast.

and of course my garden which hopefully won;t get chemtrailed. what a life. i should test the soil, what is this morgellen's disease stuff? have you read about that? Lots of it near Dallas I hear. One time about 18-24 months ago I scratched a little thing on my leg and out came this weird blue fiber. Only one little tiny one but it was defintely weird and I haven't seen it since luckily.

My tests did mid-level high also positive for uranium and barium. Barium?

I am screwed by the modern world. hope it is ok to say that here it is the honest truth. I have talked to lots of people doing the EDTA when I go in for it. Lots of success stories, uranium gone, barium gone, lead gone... and hopefully my H2O2 bathing will eliminate the chemtrail nanomorphs. I did get the weirest stuff pop up from under my skin the first couple rounds of H2O2, which looks healthy but apparently was silently storing things...

You might consider that for the yeast too. and lots of yogurt.

My Dr says the H2O2 is something they do at his clinic via IV also. I mght consider it once or twice after seeing the stuff it drew out of my flesh simply via the bathtub. He is recommending it for possible cavitations, try anything you can before surgery essentially is his viewpoint. And I agree. there are so many people in there whose Dr's' would send them for angioplasties and they do the EDTA and guess what, no angioplasty needed, not here not there not anywhere. First hand I have been sitting there talking to them no kidding. Good stuff. My bronchitis has disappeared.

Never get crowns. Frank Jerome DDS talks about why you should never get crowns in his book "tooth Truth".

I would prefer inlays too.

I am going to go get tested for reactivity/allergy to specific dental products. Turns out there is an acupuncture guy in the area that does that specifically for a local dentist.

According to Bex's pHpure link above , sensitivity tests are a waste of money since the sensitivities don't occur until you have been exposed to the substance for monthes or years, an indication that most anything becomes toxic at a certain exposure level.
The pHpure article also claims that ceramic fillings and crowns are far less toxic than composites.

I worked with resin based paints and plastics for a living till my early/mid-30's so it shouldn't be a problem, I am well exposed. I already know I have major difficulty with certain combinations of them and I already know i don't really like any of them on a long-term basis. It's the dentist that needs convincing so this test is more for him than for me.

Personally I am not sure about the tests either but I am open to new ideas. Maybe there ae new products out there i don't know about. Ceramic requires a plastic resin adhesive, so it qualifies as a plastic.

He did one of those electric meter tests on my amalgams and got a reading of 25 on one of my teeth... it was weird, my whole body did like this flip in the dental chair when he probed that tooth, obviously the leaky one.... but otherwise felt nothing, was just sort of a reflex action to the electric current I guess.

he said he got a higher reading once off of an alzheimer's patient.

Bex's link to Bob Marshall at phpure talked about several bonding agents. Do you think these are toxic?

I am not logged in, but it's me, SoSick, and yes those bonding agents are definitely toxic, much more so than the composite fillings he descripes as causing reactions a few paragraphs above. Raeson being, the bonding agent is a resin, often a 2 part, one a sticky gummy soft substance, and the other a sticky gummy catalyst. the catalyst part of the resins, any plastic resin resin (methacrylate, expoy, urethane, whatever) is extremely toxic and will be entering your mouth in a full as yet uncatalysed state. It will enter the dentin of the teeth (many are known to cause bad reactions right there) and undoubtedly some of it enter your digestive tract or bloodstream , it is a lot like a very harsh solvent, the kind that on contact with skin will penetrate your skin immediately, I have experienced that quite often. The fumes alone of 2 part-resins are known to make people quite ill. Some of the plastic resins we used to fabricate and finish model work with when I was younger (same ingredients in your dental materials, the resins) are known among persons in other trades as being some of the most toxic cancer causing materials in industries such as auto-finishing, mold-making, airbrush work, and things of that nature. Epoxy paints especially have been know to make people very ill, are highly recommended against because of toxicity even after dry, and these are essentially the items that dentist are using for adhesives.

I had the pleasure of using an epoxy based paint once... gave me a burning rash I will never forget, and I couldn;t even get near the stuff even when it was dry, my eyes would water, it would give me a headache, it was very unpleasant I was warned about this stuff but ignored the warning, which was correct.

The problem is, what else can they use to bond the material in place? It has to be a strong glue, that is all they have. So what choice do we have?

i would love it if all they were putting in was the cerec material, but yeah I have to have the bonding agent with it and I don't see how I can get out of having plastic, as this is the only thing they can glue the material in place.

The only solace I get from that is, I'll have less plastic than before, as at least the composites wont' be there. With composites you get bond, lining and the composite itself, so with the cerec, there is less of the plastic. It's not perfect, but unless someone can come up with what else can be used to glue materials in the teeth, I'd be happy to hear it. I dont' think such a product exists. Either you get gold in or leave the amalgams in, or you have to go wtih a product that needs bonding to the tooth.

Teeth are basically composed of calcium and phosphorus. If fillings and crowns were composed of calcium and phosphorus, we would'nt have to worry about chemical sensitivity, allergic reactions or differences between the hardness of teeth and dental work.
