OK, let's see what we can do...

how much algin do you recommend i take?

Start with three (3) capsules 3 times per day; morning, afternoon, evening. Try to take it on an empty stomach if possible. If not possible, take the Algin anyway.

is it okay if i take that with my vitamins?

Yes, but I would recommend that you take it a little while before or after your vitamins if possible.

i wanted you to know that this is what i have taken this morning. tell me what you think or will any of this make a differnce.
1 tbsp of flaxseed oil (yuk)
1000 of vitamin C powder
vitamin D 400 IU
magnesium 250 mg.
multivitamin
1 cranberry pill (right kidney hurts)
should i take 1 algin also, befor i go to the colonic this morning?

OK, this is generally good but I have a few questions...

(1) What is in your multivitamin (please list all ingredients if possible or just give me a specific brand and I can look it up)?

(2) What brand is your flaxseed?

(3) Does your vitamin C have any sweetener? If so, what?

(4) What is the source of the vitamin C (bioflavonoids, rose hips, etc.)?

(5) Do you perform any other kinds of detox (special baths, sauna's, etc)?

I don't believe Algin will affect the colonic but honestly I don't know so perhaps I wouldn't until after.

More Info...

I found information about your multi. Here is the profile:

This generally looks like a good multi but there are a few issues I have with it in the context of mercury toxicity.

(1) Vitamin B12. This is generally contraindicated with mercury toxicity.

Quote
Note: According to the Heavy Metal Bulletin, March 1999, some researchers [including Dr Hal Huggins] and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology in the USA have previously recommended caution in the use of methyl cobalamin injections in the treatment of amalgam patients. They feared that vitamin B12 in that form could readily methylate mercury in the body, ie. transform it into its more harmful form of methylmercury - when methylated, mercury is much more easily absorbed to the blood and then transformed to mercury ions, which are an intensely toxic form of mercury.

(2) I'm generally not fond of copper as a supplement in mercury toxic persons.

(3) I'm generally not fond of zinc as a supplement in mercury toxic persons.

You most certainly have to make your health-related decisions yourself and I don't want to influence you in a negative way. Nevertheless, it's important to approach the problem systematically and carefully.

I generally start with a single supplement (simplify), then add another, and then add another and see how I am doing at each step in the process. This way, I can determine if there is a supplement that is reacting badly with me. This process is important to me because the way mercury interacts with different people is very different from person to person.

In your fragile state, I'm glad to see you're in the care of a physician, however, you may want to search for research related to the relationship between mercury and B12, copper and zinc and present this to your physician. I know many mercury toxic people are classically low in certain nutrients like B6 and B12, but the situation is more complex than to just say, "Oh here, lets give you some of these things you're low in".

This is a "new" subject to many physicians and you will therefore find a myriad of differing opinions on this subject. Nevertheless, it's important to carefully monitor your body and stick to common sense when reviewing research and information about nutrient reactions with mercury.

Look forward to an update about your situation.
