Tracy, I 've felt like that once in a while so I know the feeling. Others probably do to , so though they havn't had a chance to post yet- expect some good answers later to your situation!
I seemed to get this irritability alot during the week before my period. Very jumpy at any of the slightest sounds-- very irritable as well. God forbid anyone should stand behind me and startle me-- I would probably have swiped them without meaning to.
What did help with that issue in my case was Oil of Evening Primrose capsules taken 1-2 weeks before my periods. I know that this irritability doenst happen only for those going through PMS- so it may not hurt to try Oil of Evening Primrose- no matter what-- even for men to use it.
Also I'm taking mercury tested fish oil capsules also- but I read that OIl of Evening Primrose really helps in these matters regarding the nervous system and brain. For me it is also lessening my water retention.
My sister just found out she has Endometriosis, and read that Oil of Evening Primrose is essential for her to take for that as well.
Alot of the brain chemicals are hormone related- and I wouldnt be surprised that this sensation is also hormone related-- caused by a deficiency indirectly brought on by mercury toxicity.
You don't have to be going through PMS to suffer that- so it may help to try it for 2 months to see if it helps some-- even in your case.
Other things that bring immediate relaxation to me are Valerian herb and Kava Kava herb tablets. Valerian will put me to sleep faster than anything. Melatonan also helps relax me-- and I read that most of us are deficient in Melatonan to begin with. Plus- Melatonin has alot of other health benefits besides relaxation- and it's very inexpensive in the stores.
I think Herballure sells alot of these items and Russ or Laura could give you some good links. If not, you can do a google search as the United States does have many stores that can ship these overseas
Hope this helps some
