yes I had a cavitation opened which was where Id had the tooth removed by an ordinary dentist two years ago. The tooth had been infected for months before and the dentist had been refilling it and putting in gauze for the infection then refilling it in the end she even filled the four roots even though it was still infected. Anyway when I had it opened up there was a large abcess underneath that had grown into the bone , so i had to have it all scraped and cleaned.
