My main problem is whether temporary fillings and mercury vapour testing is absolutely necessary. I'm reading alot of conflicting views on here. Dr Hesham does provide this, but on the other hand, he doesn’t use a rubber dam and other precautions and it also means me travelling down from the North. I have found this dentist in Leeds which I've never heard mentioned on this forum which seems to specialise in mercury procedures and follow all the precautions. I'd be grateful if anyone more knowledgeable than me on the matter could give me an opinion on it. But as I've said above my main problem is whether mercury vapour testing with a 0% reading is absolutely necessary. My completely unprofessional opinion is leaving towards the fact that the vast majority of mercury is removed leaving only tiny amounts in the teeth, which I would hope to be below safe levels. I try to be as realistic about the matter as possible, as we are constantly exposed to small amounts mercury through external sources regardless of our fillings, so is a 0% reading vital? Or is it just a way for a dentist to make a bit more money? Oh and this is my first post, so hello to everyone, I looking forward to participating in future discussions when my knowledge on the subject becomes more detailed.

hey man, I have gone through so much confusing contradictions with dentists.
I am in Birmingham and not sure who to get it done by.
I want to see hesham for reassurance that its all gone but the idea of temps is off puting..But he does it in one go under sedation.
I was also looking at David Harvey Austin who uses all precautions. Though one member on here said he had a problem with a cavitation that he missed. But then again its just an opinion and no ones perfect.

Hey Joe, have you been in contact with Hesham at all. If so, do you have any idea of his prices, i would imagine him to be more expensive than others. If you havent just a rough guesstimate would be good, as i am completely clueless as to how much it will cost to replace 6 amalgams.

Thanks for the reply, but can i just clarify something. The £125 you quoted for a temp filling, does that include removing out the old amalgum and inserting a temp. So for example, £125 per tooth.

Yep. Its very reasonable I think.
I plan on seeing hesham since he also guarantees money back if no improvement within a year.
He doesnt use a rubber dam but he uses seomthing else to isolate the teeth.

Hi, Just wanted to say that Hesham's prices are very, very reasonable. As those in the UK will know, seeing a private doctor or dentist in Harley Street can be VERY expensive, as it is THE place to go but Hesham's prices are far lower than some dentists who aren't even in Harley Street, or indeed, London. As with most things, London is far more expensive than the rest of the UK and the further North you go the cheaper things usually are. But this is not the case with dentistry. I know of dentists in the North who charge 3 times more than Hesham does. A few years ago someone wrote to me telling me they had gone to Hesham and he was very expensive. I didn't know Hesham at that stage and had no idea of how he worked or what his prices were. I put a note under his name on my list of dentists on my website saying that he was "good, but expensive". He read what I wrote and emailed me telling me that I'd got it wrong and gave me a very detailed list of prices and info on his protocol, etc. I was amazed to see how cheap he was, especially as he is in Harley Street. I've found over the years that a lot of people have been going from the South to the North for their amalgam removal because they thought they were paying less, even though they had to pay travelling and sometimes hotel expenses, when in fact some were paying a lot more by going North. I'm not saying that ALL dentists up North are very expensive, but from what I have found, a lot of them are. Maybe because there are fewer mercury-free dentists in the North, some feel they can charge what they want because people don't have much of a choice. Anyway, just wanted to say that although Hesham's prices may seem high to some people, if they 'shop around' and find out what other dentists charge they will find that he is very reasonable. Plus, with Hesham, you have the added bonus of a money-back guarantee which is something I've not come across with any other dentist. From Hesham El-Essawy
Dear All,
By way of clarification please note that:
1. I do not use rubber dam because IT DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH PROTECTION FOR THE PATIENT. My simple methods on the other hand ensure total protection as it depends on building multilayered barriers between the teeth and the throat hence the total protection or the patient. However, we need sedation to make that tolerable or the patient.
2. Using the quadrant removal order serves no good purpose.
3. Using charcoal serves no good purpose either, as it will not adsorb mercury vapour once it gets wet.
4. Chlorella removes no mercury, as shown by our experiments.
5. Removing amalgam in stages will only result in mercury vapour coming out of the amalgam that has not been removed yet and hiding under the white fillings that were placed. All amalgam must be removed at once in order to prevent this from happening.
In a general response to all the points raised, may I quote the Arab Andalucian scientist ibn sinna who once said, “Your hypothesis might be valid, but why not try the experiment?” The method we adopt came about after careful examination and after subjecting them to the all important experimentation.
As to the question of fees, I would do it for nothing if I could. It is enough for me to be able to help a sick person recover his health after a long suffering. I was there before and I know how mercury toxic people feel from my own experience.
Best wishes.
Hesham
