Obviously we dont expct to get well overnight but I have to be able to function to a certain extent with a family. How long have yu been mercury free? the body can detoxify without chelators, but it takes time. You might want to add fresh fruits, raw vegetables and healthy fats to your diet. I am sure you will feel better in a few months even if you do not use chelators.

yes mercury poisoning can be terrible. Did you know that many people feel WORSE THAN EVER 6 months after removal? Wait for 2-3 months and you will probably feel much better. Even without a miracle chelator.

Tracy - I know you're having a nightmare, but I have found this to be true. At 6 months all my symptoms came crashing back - it was devastating. I really didn't want to live any more. Yet somehow, in the last week or so, I have started feeling much better (I hardly dare say this as I will jinx myself). This is now 9 months post removal - 9 months of hell, but suddenly, now, getting better. Horrid fluey feeling going. A bit brighter in myself. Don't need to sleep in the day. A flicker of hope for the future. I can remember weeping and wailing a few months ago to my husband and saying I should be seeing results now, if it is going to happen. It IS happening, but slowly. It will come to you - I am sure.
Hang in there Tracy - the darkest hour ... and all that. It will come.
take care Nicola

Tracy, I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but have you tried taking Algin? I've spoken with well over a dozen people that I can think of right off the top of my head and they found that it truly did help reduce their mercury-related symptoms: everything from anxiety to depression to fatigue, etc. Some of these people still had their fillings in, but most were post-removal. You may not want to take any chelators if you're feeling this ill, because it's possible that your body is not eliminating the mercury you've already "stirred-up." You may be stuck in a vicious circle where your body is trying to eliminate the mercury, but you just keep reabsorbing it. If you can't take Algin for some reason, perhaps trying some other type of fiber, maybe bran fiber or Slippery Elm or even Psyllium, might provide some benefit. I really can't say how well other types of fiber would work...you might have to take a lot to get similar results. But the idea is that the right type of fiber will help absorb toxins and heavy metals and prevent your body from re-absorbing them through the colon wall. Algin has a special affinity for heavy metals...in fact, it's also used for environmental cleanup of heavy metal contamination. Unfortunately, I don't know of any clinical studies that have been done; however, based on personal experience and the testimonies of others, it certainly appears to be working. Here's another page on AlginYou also should be careful to avoid cilantro. You'll often find it added to Mexican salsa, Thai food, some curry dishes, even some mixed salads. Cilantro will definitely mobilize mercury. Some people also have trouble with sulfur-containing foods like eggs, garlic, onions, etc. Also, I believe it was Dr. Boyd Haley who found that milk can reduce the body's ability to excrete mercury. You should also try to avoid aluminum exposure from deodorants, aluminum foil or cookware, etc., as well as fluoride exposure from toothpastes, municipal water supplies, and certain black teas...I've read that Earl Grey and other black teas can contain fluoride, although I haven't confirmed this. I hope this helps.

I've been going through the same thing. I had my amalgams out about 6 months ago and I seem to be at a standstill. What helps me is to remember that it gets better around 9 months. Tracy, you've had such a hard time. I know it's disheartening. I think talking it out on this forum with others who are going through it and have been through it is about all we can do sometimes.
For myself, low dose DMSA and ALA helped and I made a lot of progress up to this point. However, not everyone can tolerate DMSA.
I've ordered Algin and will be trying that, as well. And I've thrown out the flouride toothpaste. I did try cilantro one time and was sick for almost two weeks. Will avoid that from now on.

For me it was different. Once I had my last amalgam removed, due to swallowing the removed grains of amalgam, I was poisoned and made far worse immediately. SO I had to contend with that.
I thought I had finally chelated some of that out, and for a time I seemed relieved to a point, but about 8 months to a year after, I got the second phase of suffering. From that point on, life was pretty much a nightmare for me.
For others, this can happen earlier, or something can set it off. It just means the stored mercury is beginning to erupt and leak out. It happens a time after there is no more amalgam in the mouth. It seems the body, after a time of not receiving any further intake of mercury from the mouth, begins to then attempt to unload the storage of it.
This is some kind of pattern that seems to hit a lot of people. Sadly, they are not usually warned of it, are not aware of what is happening and can end up thinking that it's something else.
For me? the experience, once it started, lasted for 2-3 years before I started to come out of it properly. Then I was pretty much recovering. Unfortunately the recovery was short lived when I contracted a bacterial/viral infection which devastated my immune system and from there, other issues have also come onboard.
But at least I can say I was at one point recovering from mercury toxicity. I did use chelation during that time, but no matter what I did, I'd go through a more intense hell to try and detox it out faster. andy Cutler's method appeared for me at least to be the best tolerated. But again, none of them were easy. It all depends on how poisoned a person is and if they suffer with retention toxicity like I did and still do.
Those who don't retain it as much, will usually get well much faster after amalgam removal.
I wish I coudl recommend something to yu Tracy. I don't think there is any magic cure or easy method. If you are very very poisoned and have other things to deal with, you may find it harder, as indeed you are. I can only reiterate what I suggested before, which is the strict diet, healthy fats, supplement support, and possibly very small doses of any chelation if /when tolerated, or remotely tolerated. Even if it's a bit here and there inbetween concentrating on diet.
