I heard that sometimes mercury vapour can get trapped in new permanent fillings so its best for temps. But im worried about costs.
And I am quite sure you could always detox it out.
Have many recovered from placing permanents straight after amalgam removal or from removal from a local non mercury free dentist?

I would like to know as well.
Hesham uses Temporary fillings until detoxing is over then places permanent fillings but this adds much more to the cost and more time consuming.
Is this vital to recovery? Did Russ and Laura have temporary fillings put in?
And if their was mercury trapped in new permanent fillings surely this could be detoxed? If so how long or if it cant is their any evidence?

We didn't have temporary fillings put in and we both recovered dramatically. Here is a link to our story: http://herballure.com/mmsHope this helps.

Thank you very much Russ. That means alot as I dont know if I an afford paying for temps then permanent. Its just Heshams sounds fantastic but he places temps.
I will go to a different dentist. I really feel your pain in how much you suffered as no one understands unless they have been through a severe challenge in their life especially with health issues. I really thought I was mental and somehow making these symptoms myself believing I am ill or a hypochondriac. But I would feel good at times and then I feel bad for no reason. I believe that toxins are the cause.
THank you everyone for the support and creating such a wonderful site in helping people have a better life.
Regards, Joe

You're very welcome.
More amazing to me than the physical ailments, is the way mercury affects your personality emotionally. I haven't put much about that in my story because I only realized the changes after the story was written. My life has changed dramatically.
I'll be posting my extended story eventually which includes this life-changing aspect of amalgam removal.
Cheers (as the English say).

Hi Joe,
I just wanted to share that this past summer I had a complete healthy/biological dental revision done. I had 17 amalgams removed and permanent biological fillings put in their place and also a root canaled tooth extracted and a second problem tooth extracted which had abscessed.
My main reason for removing the amalgams so quickly was that I had chronic epstein barr virus and was very ill with it. EBV is linked with amalgams and mercury poisoning. I could barely walk when I went to my appt. for my amalgam removal. The next day, I was up and walking, taking stairs, doing laundry -- the sun was shining for me for the first time in years.
Removing my amalgams got rid of my EBV and I experienced immediate improvements in some of my other mercury symptoms. I still have some other health issues to heal from -- adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances, a couple of gut bacterial infections .... but I"m doing so much better than I was before I had the dental revision.
I'm seeing a holistic physician who also practices orthomolecular medicine and we're in the process of doing functional testing to find out where my body's weaknesses are and how best to support them. I can't even begin to consider formal chelation, I don't believe, until I am sure about the best support to apply for my body's weaknesses.
Hope this helps.

Im glad to hear your doing great Sharon. Hope your success continues.
What safety procedures did your dentist use for your amalgam removal? Or whats required for full mercury removal?
Its just that I spoke to Hesham and he seems to think temporary fillings are the safest way because if any mercury gets trapped in the permanent fillings it can get very nasty. He also claims that he will definiately get rid of all mercury with all his special tools which sounds good but it will be much more costly. Im quite confused now lol as I dont think these other dentists do that but at least they place permanent fillings..
Its amazing how something in your teeth can affect you emotionally. I beleive it can change one persons personality since it is a neurotoxin.
Thanks again for your replies.

Thanks for all that info Dental holocaust.
Thanks to this board I have done alot of reasearch and searching and I have decided that David Harvey Austin seems quite reliable.
Holistic mercury free practice. Also metal free, with use of Heliomolar composites. Safety protocols used for amalgam removals including high volume suction, galvanometer, rubber dam, complete body covering, oxygen mask, mercury air filter and biocompatibility testing (kinesiology, blood). Works with nutritionist or arranges Bio-nutritional profiling. Tests done, e.g. Kelmer. Checking of root canal toxicity, and of cavitations (NICO lesions) using panographic x-ray and oral examination, with surgical cleaning when needed.
Thats some of his procedures that he uses so it seems very good and Im sure that pretty much all you need for a perfectly safe removal. Is intravenous Vitamin C neccessary as another dentist in london does that but they havnt contacted me back yet.

No problem. I'm having to deal with about 80% of those symptoms.
Yes that seems like a thorough list of safety measures. Hesham also uses kinesiology for biocompatibilty, with the help of a Vega therapist. A Vega machine is a good diagnostic tool. I know the cost of seeing Hesham puts a person off. It's probably the main reason why i haven't tried his method yet. He offers money back if there's no big improvement with his methods. But i've committed myself to other chelators for now, so i'd probably only be going for the dental work. I would say that if you want the mercury eliminated from your teeth, then Hesham from what i can see looks the best option. That's not to say that everyone needs it. Masses of people have got better without the invisible vapour being removed, wish i was one of them though. So i keep my options open.

Apparently Tracy had a bad experience with Hesham though and he claims that the patient will recover after doing his protocol. He shouldnt give false promises. I recommend you view Tracy's Message.
For your concern on Heliomolar post it on here as a title and see what people say.

I got the removal done here in Ireland. It was years ago, rubber dam was used etc, but it wasn't as thorough as what Harvey Austin will do for you. I didn't have biocompatibily testing for new materials, so it looks like you'll be in good hands in terms of the removal.

Yes, I got my replacements done with NO biocompatible testing, random materials, random dentists and I swallowed mercury during the last removal. So all in all, I'm a real role model for what NOT to do.
I never think until the damage is done...then I think.
So basically, I found out about mercury poisoning and thought all I had to do was rush into any dentist (would you believe it, I went to a general unbiologic dentist, there's a no brainer for you) and just have any white filling put in and I'd see the light....well not only did I not see the light, I was plunged into darkness and left sadder but wiser.
I kept getting told "Don't worry, you'll come out of it and everybody has a rainbow waiting for them".... problem was, mine had a pot of sh*t at the end of it.
sorry for being negative, I guess it's a bad night tonight.

At least you got the fillings out. Im sure you could always detox the mercury thats trapped in your gum or new fillings if it wasnt done to what standards as Hesham.
You say you still suffer with alot of those symptoms, are you currently taking any kind of medication, vitamins or herbal formula's?

Hi Joe, well I've been through years of all kinds of chelation/detox and I went through total hell. Then I seemed to "recover" or at least improve. What happened? I got a viral/bacterial infection that damaged me beyond belief, on top of this, I had other dental work done that may have left me with possible cavitations (jawbone infections) that no dentist will touch. Nor do they agree on where they are, if they are.
To add to this, I had periodontal gum disease. So all in all, I'm basically a walking disaster zone and worse off than I ever was. And yes, I am a great one for rushing into things and I still do it. I don't know why either. I try to stop it, but I can feel it happening and I don't know if it's part of the illness, or it's actually me....
And yes! as soon as you think yu're onto something and you start getting excited nad preparing, something or someone says something that puts you off or some other things freak you out and yu're then onto another course.
If its' not one thing it's another. I think I'm onto a good dentist and before long, he goes weird and stops responding to me...usually it's because I ask too many questions I gather they think either Im nuts, or they just don't like the fact I ask questions.
I'm confused too, but nothing's new. I've been confused for a LONGGG time.

Im glad im not the only one confused lol. I know what you mean about asking questions. They think your probably worrying too much (JUST REMEMBER YOUR NOT NUTS) the thing is the only reason why you would be worrying and asking questions in the first place is because you have been ill and sufferred and only concerned about the safety and procedures as many people dont know whats right or wrong anymore. I have a plan that I am going to follow and beleive in it. I dont want to expect to get %100 better but any improvement in symptoms is what I am after and re-assurance taht I have done everything that I can to be happy. The things is not to get too carried away in the procedure which is easier said than done lol. Get my fillings removed. and detox Ascorbic acid powder (can take highest dosage of this until your body cant store it anymore). This has helped many people overcome serious problems. Maximol Solutions (Ionic Minerals thats easily absorbed with every vitamin and colloidal minerals and amino acids needed.) Revenol an anti-oxidant formula Special dieting Candida etc. I also looking into www.curezone.comHUlda clarkes Detox programs for the bowel, Parasites, Colon etc. I dont think its best doing any of these until my fillings are out anyway as Im probably just moving the mercury about. Anyway thanks for listening and I wish you all the best in your success. By the way have you done any other testing regarding hormonal issues, adrenal issues, or leaky gut situation as this might contribute to you feeling ill even though you have removed your fillings?

HI, sounds like you got a good plan. That sounds pretty basic/safe to me. AT least it's a good place to start and later on, as you are able, you might be able to use direct chelating agents to grab the mercury and remove it.
lol yeah I'll try to remember I'm not nuts But yes, I do think that because I ask so many questions, the dentist does get put off and perhaps thinks I'm a bit neurotic and not someone he wishes to take onboard. But as you said, in the past, I did so many things without proper thought or preperation and that has done so much damage to me, that now of course, I go the other way to try and ensure I'm as careful as I can be. They do not seem to like that and make it most difficult. Not sure why!
About your removal/detox plan - only go at a pace that's right for you. Yeah, diet is definitely essential. it's more important than the supplements, because without it? It's likely the supplements won't do much good if any, as often if we have candida bad enough, we won't absorb nutrients properly anyway.
I'm on the diet, which I think is all i can do at the moment, because I'm trying to prepare myself for possible dental work soon and often if I meddle too much other than diet, i can end up making things far worse. So I'm scared to do much else. It sometimes does help. I take supplements and apparently some of the best are basic vitamin C, selenium, vitamin E, milk thistle, undenatured whey, - all for increasing glutathione levels in teh body, which is how we eliminate toxins and metals. And B complex and minerals and a fish oil (mercury free), plus dietry fats and of course the no sugar candida diet.
I haven't got all the supplements, mainly it's the diet with the recommended fats. I am getting my existing composites replaced again with a new material. They are old/shrinking and apparently they are not compatible with me anyway...how true that is, or how much of a difference if/when they are replaced remains to be seen. I don't hold out much hope, as I feel a lot of my issues are more infection related and the lowered immunity from that area. But the materials are old, I pretty much have to do it anyway. I'm scared because any dental office visit, especially combined with dental work/anaesthetic can be totally and utterly devastating to me, so I am frankly scared. I dont know what to expect and I know what's happened every other time...so all I can do is try and use the diet to boost myself and that's it.
I hope your removal and everything goes as well as possible for you. There is no sure thing, but at least we're trying.

I admire that your really determined and can stay on a diet. I seriously cant and binge lol. My parents hate me doing the diet as they think I will lose too much weight.
And besides my mates always try an get me out drinking an clubbing every weekend so I cant see a point in doing the diet even though I want too lol.
I really think you should get your dental work sorted as this can affect your whole body and it is concerning you as i read in posts and could contribute to infections. Im sure you will find a good dentist. Even if you have to see a few different ones for specific situations then do it. As long as it helps you in the long run. Just dont let anything get you down or make you negative in thinking your losing hope as I know how easy it is.

Well, thanks, but I cheat also lol. I am actually a sugar addict and once I cheat? I binge like you would not believe. So yep, I know what you mean. But once you get on it? and even if you slip up from time to time, over time you can do it. It takes patience and determination but if i can do it? anybody can.
Also about the weight? believe it or not, this normalises weight. AT first you can lose and then it balances out and you actually end up usually at your ideal weight. I've been either a bit overweight and bloated, or underweight and either way, over time the diet has corrected that.
The fats help also. They are veryhealthy because they help along with the proteins to rebuild tissue, hormones and help increase bile production (which is needed in detox also).
But for you? It wouldn't be easy when you are young and have mates getting you to go out. Sometimes it can seem impossible. But hey, if/when you try it? See if you can do it, see how long you can stick with it and if you do cheat, just pick yourself up again and keep at it.
I'll tell you this much. the first time I ever did a candida diet (age 21), before it, I was so ill from toxicity, I was actually bloated from toxins and my face was grey from poisoning. I started the candida diet for the first time in my life and I was absolutely devastated at first by what happened to me.
First of all, you go on it and you don't notice anything at first. However, once you're on it for a few days or so, it kicks in and the toxins begin to loosen and leave your system. The yeast start to die off and for me, it was incredible. I actually paced up and down the kitchen craving sugar like a cocaine addict, I was in tears. I held on though. I ended up with headaches and felt like I was exploding out of my face. I had no idea the toxins were coming out of my brain. It was actually incredible. For the first time, my body was being given the chance to heal and detox and it was a massive eruption. After two weeks, I was like a new person. I was still mercury toxic, as I had amalgam, but the difference was (at that stage) remarkable. My skin cleared of every imperfection, my eyes became clear and extremely coloured looking, my hair softened and improved in quality, my weight normalised and people said I looked younger.
So the initial stages of it are hard, especially if you are addicted to what the yeast needs to feed upon, but if you ever go for it, it may well be one of the best things you ever do for yourself.
I still had my falls, but I got into such a habit that most of the time I was on that diet and the little cheats no longer impacted me as much. However, you need to really stick with it long enough to allow your body to lower yeast and heal. If you don't, you may not yield such results.
You can still go clubbing! You can still drink and binge a bit if you need to in that area, but main thing is keep the diet side strict if you can. Indulging in some alcohol may not be as detrimental as indulging in sugar!
Yeah, the dental side of things for me may well be a bigger issue than I realise. Problem is, no dentist is forthcoming in helping me and as I mentioned, any dental work or even visit to a dental office, is enough to make me very ill. I actually get poisoned by the mercury vapor that is already in the office itself! it's absolutely ridiculous. That's how allergic i am to mercury and how suseptible I am and that's not counting the anaesthetic itself. Now if the reactions following that were short term? That's not an issue. But sadly I'm usually devastated for a long long time and I am frankly scared. I don't know what I'm really doing and if it will help in the long run or not.
So, I'm trying now to get a dentist to put new materials in, but at the moment he's not responding to my emails and I guess he just doesn't want to know after my questions. I haven't actually gone overboard at all with him, I've tried to keep it as clear and uncomplicated as I can, but he still went weird.
lol, so oh well, not sure what will happen. Yeah it is easy to get negative and allow things to get me down...the toxins do that on their own without other stuff on top of it.

Thanks I suppose I should still keep at it even though I binge or go out for drinks. Their really is no excuse.
Are you from New Zealand? I used to live in Australia but moved to the uk 2 years ago. I have always wanted to go to new zealand with mates because of the scenery.
I think its unfair how you suffer so much and trying to deal with it on your own. You need support to get you through this. The dentists should be more understanding.
Have you had the proper thorough examintations for underlying issues? LIke a leaky gut test where you drink a linquid? this is a big cause for allergies. Have you also tried the special concotions for getting rid of parasites (Wormwood, Cloves and black walnut)? And done a good liver and colon flushing?
You need to keep positive as their is so many things that you can try and im sure their is definiately something that has to work.
I think sort your dental work out and then deal with any issues that still bother you but i am certain you can recover. nothing is impossible. I have heard of people with serious irreversable diseases such as parkinsons, MS get remitted so if they can beat them we can beat anything.

Well if this helps I think your a very knowlesgable person. From reading many posts you have helped alot of people including myself and encouragement is the best thing. Most of us dont get enough of it because not many people understand whats really going on.
Im determined to do the diet and wont give up or feel bad if I binge. lol.

Hi JOe, thanks alot for that. I don't think I'm knowledgeable, as much as I've had so many years to make mistakes, that I tend to learn from them (it takes me a long time though). I'm one of those people that might be warned of dangers, but it doesn't penetrate my brain until I actually get hurt by it. Sad, but true. I try and change that side of me, but it's not easy.
Yep, I am from New Zealand! and here? we dont' have quite the choice in regards to a lot of biologic dentists. Often I've had to travel for hours to get to one, but it's just not practicle anymore. To get a dentist to respond how I want him to, is like pulling teeth (excuse the pun) here. Not sure if it's mercury exposure they're getting or what....
NZ is a great place for scenery and people tend to come here for that side of it more than anything else. Queenstown is probably the best place for that! But it's not what I see when I look out my window I'm in a place that doesn't really show NZ at it's best. I've seen NZ on TV and I think "Is that my country?" lol.
Yeah, if you can, give the diet a go. It's actually interesting to see what happens when you start it. Not always pleasant, but can be astounding when the stored toxins start to loosen. But dont feel pressured to do it if you can handle how you are already. But many actually dont have much choice, it can be crucial for some who are buckling under too much toxic strain.
I'm still awaiting a dentist to reply to me....I think he got put off when I said "Could I please request a non epinephrine non-vasco constrictor anaesthetic"
I don't mean to annoy them, I just have natural knack for it it seems. You'd not believe some of the circumstnaces I've had, you'd crack up laughing if you heard some of them. I just shake my head over it and so does everybody else.
Hope you have better luck with them than me.
As far as testing goes? I haven't really had much testing in respect of my gut. I am sure I do have leaky gut, but diet des help at times. I don't like taking too many things, I react easily. I've had liver testing done and other testing and as usual, it shows me to be fine and it's rather embarrassing because I'm ill, yet every test shows me to be in great health. So in that area, nothing is evident.
I personally do feel it's underlining ongoing infection, possibly viral/bacterial... and perhaps other things adding to it. Too many challenges at once on the immune system is usually what causes one to fall into chronic illness. It's amazing what the body can tolerate for a long time before that happens.

Unless your dentist is careless, only an insignificant amount of mercury will remain after amalgam removal so there's no need for temporaries. Unfortunately many dentists are sloppy and leave visible pieces of hg.

It was agreed that the subject of Tracey and Hesham El-Essawy be dropped for their sake but as it has been brought up once again I would just like to remind you, and any new people on this forum, that Tracey had a bad experience when going to Hesham as she insisted on doing things her way and not following Hesham's protocol completely, which is what he asks for a full recovery. Tracey is the one to blame for her non-recovery not Hesham. This has been made clear by both Hesham and Tracey. Hesham does not give false promises, this is why he gives a money-back guarantee. A protocol is a protocol. Patients cannot expect to recover if they follow half of what a dentist needs to do and half of what they themselves want. Lynne i wish you hadnt bought up tracys name, she is in a bad way and i know how us mercury toxic people can become angry and it can hinder our recovery. tracy is still ill due to other things she has, its not just her teeth. she didnt take the detox, so what1 how does any doctor know how to detox an individual, we are different, all of us. i personally cant take cilantro or chlorella, but i can take DMSA, it ,makes me feel tons better, hesham says it contains mercury, well we havnt had proof of that yet. basically hes saying his detox protocol is the greatest and i dont believe it, it may work for some and not for others, i have heard alot of people cant take his detox stuff so Tracys not the only one. Im not putting my name but tracys my friend and very ill so JUST LEAVE HER ALONE!
