Dental Holocaust, that echoes pretty much how we all feel too. This BS about "mercury can't be an issue, I have amalgams and I'm "ok"", is part of the way mercury works.

You can get someone who can work in a factory everyday around mercury and seem unaffected. Then you can have a person who cannot even walk INTO a dental office without becoming devastated due to the mercury vapor present in the office environment!

Oh and one other example. Not sure if anybody knows this, but there are dentists who worked around mercury all their working life and seemed to 'cope", then it hit them later, they became that ill, that not only did they have to leave their job, some became so sensitised twoards it, they can no longer enter a dental office! Also, you can find out the fate of many dentists. Alcoholism, birth defects, psychological problems, you name it. The highest rate of suicide is found in the dental profession. Many of the dental nurses that used to work, are being found now to have mercury related issues later in life.

Mercury has also been banned in some countries/areas. yes, they are well aware of the dangers of it. Even towards a person not showing signs of problems, it can often be down to a person's individual sensitivity and also how well they are at the time. It only takes a few knocks to a person's immunity to often send them headlong into the mercury poisoning illness. Also it is an accummulative poison, it does not always show instant problems. It's insidious.

But to those like us? It is our greatest enemy. And unfair of others who don't seem to have obvious problems to start pointing fingers or throwing doubts and saying "yeah right, I'm ok, you should be too". That is the height of arrogance. Wait till things start going wrong with them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

These are the kinds of people that don't care, so long as they are ok. When the sh*t hits the fan and something goes wrong, they shout the loudest. I remember one guy on a forum was very ill, he was a psycholgoical mess, suicidal. poor guy. He actually got well finally and that was great. but sadly, he developed an attitude and started telling others to start being more "positive" and stop being so "negative". He seemed only too quick to forget how he had been and was the most unsupportive person I'd come across. You would think having gone through it, he would be wonderful. But for reasons I don't understand, he seemed to forget how bad he had been....which is great in one way, but his newfound confidence bordered on arrogance and cockiness.

So, one should always remember, if they get well, to recall how you felt if you can (it's hard, becuase when you get well, you really honestly forget how bad it really was, it's like coming out of a nightmare and looking back on something that doesn't seem like it was even real or possible or "you"), so that's why people who get well can seriously lose awareness of the past reality of it at the time. They can remember, but they can lose sight of some of it.
