Staying there wasn't that bad imho, I wasn't taking and still haven't been given any drugs (apart from taking a tiny dose of risperidone for 2 days, after which I discontinued) - fortunetely I guess. I told them all about mercury poisoning and the doc heading the clinic figured I have paranoid schizophrenia (go figure).

Be very careful, the psychiatrists are among the most dangerous quacks out there. Before you take any drugs or accept any "diagnosis" check some links on "antipsychiatry" and "neuroleptics", especially about "tardive dyskinesia" and dementia caused by them. Few years on neuroleptics will turn any young bright person into a drooling idiot, without "curing" anything.

You will be much safer and better off in the long run with traditional healers, medicine men or spiritual practices of just about any tradition than with modern quacks. Or just a good oldfashioned pipe or hand-rolled cigarette you can smoke in peace and talk things over with an old wise granpa. Note that tobacco is an ancient medicine used by humans for at least 18000 years, cultivated for over 7000 years and no modern pharmaceutical or any traditional remedy comes even close to its neuro-protective and healing magic, especially against depression, psychoses, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's. It is particularly protective and therapeutic against mercury toxicity, at multiple levels (e.g. upregulation of glutathione, neutrophil, DHEA, acetylcholine, MAOI).
