HI searching, I dont think the probiotics are harmful, but sometimes you can get reactions from them early on. Nothing compared to strong antifungals though but sometimes it's wise to go slow at first and see how you feel.
I dont notice anything from them personally, no worsening or improvement this time around, but onetime I took them I felt my metal symptoms got stirred up, not just die off, but the whole deal and I had to stop them for a while. Nothing serious though.
If you need them, I'd take them. But if you feel theyre' causing too many symptoms, go easy. There are some who believe they can methylate mercury and cause problems (I think it was the guy who created NDF). Yeast can do the same.
But again, I don't know about that. I just found they were pretty potent at one stage for me. Nothing caused as much damage as antifungals though. The amount of metals released was so bad, I actually seriously thought I was going to die. I had tremors, night sweats, flushing/fever (metal fever), brain symptoms, salivating, the whole metal poisoning load. I was so grateful to have the DMSA on hand to chelate it back out.
But I never get this from antifungals anymore, yet I have candida. I feel that it was because I had quite a bit of yeast that contained mercury at that stage, that perhaps had been there for sometimes and the sudden use of antifungal broke them open and released it all in one shot.
One article I read said that antifungal use in a mercury toxic patient is not only foolish, but downright dangerous. That's how bad they thought it was. It can cause acute toxicity if the yeast contain enough mercury. But again, some people have been literally saved by antifungals....depends on the individual.
The diet is safe, but still releases a lot of toxins too but it works simply by slowly reducing yeast by starving it out. This is very different that killing it aggressively by the cell walls being broken open by antifungals. You can still get sick from the diet die off temporarily, but it is NOTHING compared to what misery high yeast levels can cause in my opinion. Candida by itself can cause as much misery as mercury, yet mercury can cause candida...
Vicious cycle eh?
