I just had a very quick look at the index of Pat's book and didn't see a reference to the ammonia issue in there. It might have been his Blog or his website. Sorry!

I know that he has formulated an amino acid supplement and has included alpha ketoglutarate in that product as it not only helps the body rid itself of excess ammonia, but it also helps the body assimilate and utilize amino acids.
