I find doctors tell me I have anxiety/Depression.
I just had a blood test and that was it.
I still think can they pick everything from just a test?
Whats the best diagnostic approaches from a doctor and how do I find them locally? I dont like diagnosing myself as my parents might think im hypochondriach or psychosomatic. THIS IS MY PLAN FOR HEALTH Don’t Diagnose and help myself. Get help from Alternative Practitioners.
Buy Hal Huggins book.
Ask about tests and validity.
Buy Purified Water Filter Buy Better Juicer (Juice Booster etc).
Get Rid of Amalgam Fillings Properly. Detox it out.
Do the Candida Diet. (Look for groups to make it easier to do). Cleanse Intestinal Parasites. Supplements.
Then if still unwell:
Councillor CBT Psychotherapy
Special Functional tests (Look for the precursor that leads to illness not the condition).
YORK TEST – Food Allergies, Intolerances and Sensitivities. (Validity of some tests)
Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA) – Evaluates digestion, absorption, intestinal function, and microbial flora, possibly revealing fundamental causes and contributing factors involved in the onset of depression.1
Anxiety Blood tests – Blood analysis may help detect underlying vitamin, mineral, and amino acid deficiencies and/or hormonal imbalances that may be causing the symptoms of anxiety. FACT: Most Thyroid Disorders go undetected in blood tests as the range for normal is too far widespread and everyone has a different Biological make. People have successfully treated Anxiety with low doses of thyroid treatment even though doctors tell them everything is ok. See testimonials or an alternative health practitioner for more info.
Many doctors randomly prescribe(Mostly the one for marketing purposes) Anti-depressants, Anti-convulsants, Anti-Anxiety drugs without knowing how they can affect the patient and if it will benefit.
Depression It would also be extremely helpful to run objective tests that can detect the following: • Folic acid (also known as vitamin B-9) deficiency • Food allergies15 (Particularly Wheat, Gluten, Yeast) • Hormone imbalances • Iron deficiency • Vitamin B-6 ,Vitamin B-12 deficiency
FACT: Most people have suffered depression for over 5-10 years with doctors and psychiatrists messing them about with anti-depressants and anti-psychotic cocktails trying to find the right balance but they don’t know how they affect people individually. Many have recovered through Amalgam removal, Candida Dieting and thyroid supplements even though doctors tell them they have the all clear. Doctors only go by what they have studied so its in your best interest to get help otherwise.
Either one of these tests etc. Check Validity of them. Not sure if Urine, Blood or Saliva is most accurate?
Adrenal Function Test (AFT) – Measures levels of DHEA and cortisol during four periods of the day to determine if there is a hormone imbalance. This is a comprehensive evaluation of adrenal functioning recommended for those with excessive stress, allergies, chronic fatigue, and sleep problems—all indicators of immune dysfunction.1
DHEA-S – Measures levels of the DHEA hormone using saliva sent to a lab for analysis. DHEA, with testosterone, are key factors in muscle mass and energy—and are strongly linked to depression, weight gain, and cardiovascular disease.2
Hormone Profile III + AFT – Measures levels of estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and all four cortisols—morning, noon, evening, and night. This is the most complete test of how hormone levels relate to symptoms of menopause, andropause, and adrenal function.1
ACTH Challenge Test – The ACTH test is generally ordered when cortisol levels are low. It measures the levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)—a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland that, in turn, tells the adrenal glands to secrete cortisol.2
Cortisol test – Measures levels of cortisol in the blood. Cortisol helps keep blood sugar levels normal, control inflammation, boost the immune system, regulate metabolism and body temperature, and influence blood pressure. A doctor-ordered cortisol test may be done using blood samples taken in the morning and again in the afternoon. Or it can be done using urine collected over a 24-hour period. Often the results can be affected by stress, pregnancy, hypoglycemia, eating or drinking prior to the test, or other medications.2
Neurotransmitters check (Urine levels) And Nutrition, Vitamins and amino acid therapy.
Glucose Tolerance Test
Sulphite levels.
Get rid of toxins and supplements prescription drugs and other pollutants I have taken in blood, tissue, brain and colon etc.. FULL DETOX Colonic Hydrotherapy. Ancestral diet
Amalgam Fillings – Removed - Detox Candida- Diet supplements Thyroid – Proper tests rule out or try low dose supplements under health practitioner. Adrenal Fatigue- As Above ADD- Diet and removal of fillings , Exercise and can try supplements (Neurotransmitters test) or meds if no improvement after a few monthes. Food allergies,Intolerances and Sensitivies Sugar Problems Nutritional Problems Worries or mental issues – Speak to Health practitioners with the knowledge, Psychiatrists and do CBT. Do the tests etc. all issues Unresolved
Symptoms Concentration bothers me the most. It gets me frustrated. I can read but for over the last 6+ years I always find it difficult. I have hid this problem and tried to get on with life and thought maybe its just me. Tried many anti-depressants and they help slightly but still suffer. - Can’t stare or keep my focus on anything - Feels like im not really looking at stuff at times and not absorbing it Daydreaming type feeling. - Not sure if its because my eyes twitch or jump or if it’s a dizziness or if I focus on my symptoms such as my stomach feeling bloated or shaky. - Think maybe im a perfectionist
Im not sure if its depression, Add, Anxiety, Worrying without realising or candida and my silver fillings
Anxiety- Concious of heart and pulse all the time
Stomach feels tense and shaky.
Get panicky talking to people I like.

I continue to find this diffucult to get to the bottom of myself. I think emotional issues can be so much more than just toxicity. It can be emotional problems stemming from the way were brought up to general unhappines in the way we are living our lives. It may be that we are depressed because we dont like our job, relationship, living conditions etc or are just under stress from other things in life such as looking after sick relatives, living with debt etc. If you are going to explore other ways as well for dealing with emotional problems i would steer clear of psychiatrists. I work in this field and a psychiatrist is likely to take a biochemical approach to your difficulties and probably go down the route of medication. CBT can be uselful but it is limited and wont touch on any deeper issues if there are any. You might be better off starting with a counsellor and see what emerges from there.

Well from a personal perspective, if you are going to see a psychiatrist for clinical depression, try 3 or 4 different antidepressants at the most, if no progress, move on. I stayed too long because i didn't have the knowledge that i now have. Also had ECT. If it's biological depression, which the sufferer should be able to determine through common sense, i would steer away from psychotherapy, CBT etc, because its total bullshit. It's well documented the psychiatric disturbances that mercury causes, add to that fungal issues which hang around with their heavy metal friend, and parasites which starve the brain of nutrients. I would estimate that there are millions of mentally ill patients who have toxins coming out of their ears, and god knows how many of them don't realise it. I myself have nothing in my life to drag me down, keep me isolated at home every day, so it's clearly a biological/toxicolgical situation. Poisons have the ability to completely alter a persons thoughts and emotions, and its destructive beyond words because the person can beleive its really them, when it's not.

I agree I was going through the happiest most fulfilling time of my life when I became ill and I became horrendously physically ill about 4 months before becoming depressed. I still have nothing to be depressed about apart from I want to stop feeling ill and get back to work and do all the things I had planned. Anyone who becomes severely ill and struggles to find a diagnosis or treatment I think will inevitably become depressed, thats apart from all the organic issues that are going on in your body. I know if I was well Id have a dream life, thats whats sucks Tracy

I too am determined to find all the answers I can get and want to get better. I will do all the tests I need to feel satisfied and will get better. Im starting off with my amalgam removal even if its not a problem I will take them out and do the candida diet. It would be good if I had support though and cant find anyone in the uk who would do the neurotransmitters tests. This test in the US sounds so good. www.neurogistics.com

Joe..if you're really determined to have a neurotransmitter test, there's the brain bio centre in London. It's a clinic which treats mental disorders nutritionally. I went there, but got no results, because they are missing the key (toxins). I don't know how accurate their neurotransmitter test is but my serotonin was low, so i guess that's true enough since i'm in a black hole. It's not cheap either from what i can remember.

Thanks fo rthe info on that place.
I thought it sounded to good to be true.
Yes I agree with you that you have to address the underlying causes of imbalances and I believe mercury does affect neurotransmitters in some people.
ANd the candida will also affect me. But if all in all I still feel unell after detoxing for at least 3 monthes after amalgam removal....I will do the neurotransmitters test.
Did they give you an amino acid regime? did any of the nutitional adive they gave you help you at all?

They gave me "special formulas" for mood which had neurotransmitter precursors, so yes amino acids, also fatty acids, vitamins. They said i had "pyroluria" so gave me B6 and zinc. You're right when you say it's too good to be true. After 4 months i was no better and they told me to do yoga and counselling, which i knew was heading down bullshit alley. It was nothing short of a joke. The cherry on the cake is that they say they have mercury and candida tests, but never carried any out on me.

Im sorry to hear how they messed you about.
Im glad you passed that info on so I dont waste my money and time. I believe the tests are possibly fake and they just use the same regime for everyone with fatty acids, vitamins etc.
Have you gotten rid of your fillings and detoxed yet? And are you doing the candida diet? if so how long for are you feeling in general now?

I've got rid of my 9 mercury fillings and 3 root canals in the past few years, but i know i'm loaded with mercury and candida for sure. I'm about to start with a new doctor. I have a good diet. I wouldn't say it's totally anti-candida completely. My new doctor has his own individual diet recommendations depending on testing. Try and find a doctor who uses a form of bio-resonance testing such as EAV/VEGA/Applied Kinesiology. That's the only reliable testing for heavy metals.

I would do the candida diet before, during and after removal to clean the channels of elimination so you can efficiently remove the metals that are ingested thru removal.

I think Lucinda Basset Midwest Center for Depression has the best self help book on anxiety and depression. Her tape series is expensive, but you can buy just the book, and it is very helpful. I have read many self help books. It is hard not to be dpressed when you feel sick or afraid of getting sicker every day. Afraid of touching anything chemical, afraid of accidently eating something that will make you sick, suspicious of every thing in ones environment. I have been sick for 2 years and am just now looking for a dentist in my area. Help? I live in Chehalis, Washington. Vancouver or Portland are a possibility, but would like to find someone closer. I have 8 amalgyms. I have lost 35 pounds on the candida detox diet, and do not want to loose more. I am afraid of loosing more. One bite of carbs or sugar make me sick for days. Raging vaginal burning and urethral pain (I don't have pain when urinating thank god and I don't have a urinary infection).I don't know how to keep weight on. Very little fat on me now, and I feel hungry alot. I eat huge amounts of green veggies, mostly organic. Only green veggies and meat. I am thinking of doing NCD. I have herpes. The herpes and Candida get worse at the same time with stress especially. I have heard that herpes have an affinity for nerve endings and that is what causes the intense pain. I have a wonderful son in high school, and I want to get back to my old self. [color:"blue"] [/color]
