Yes, Hal Huggins believes that diet is a big part of all this and said that not doing a proper diet destroys more recoveries than anything else he's seen. Hense the crucial part of sticking to a candida diet and including all the healthy fats, as this also helps with detox via the gut and liver and the fats are a big part of healing and helping the body eliminate metals.
The body will indeed detox some of that mercury naturally and if chelation causes far too painful results, then it is not worth it, unless you just want to do it every now and again when you feel like giving it another burst. But don't push it too often if you are suffering too much. The body is already doing some of it on its own. you can speed it up of course with chelation, but it can be very painful going as you know.
However, the problem lies in this. Depending on how poisoned you are and how long the toxicity has gone on, will depend on how much mercury storage you have in brain and organs. And often a person needs to take something to start eliminating brain/organ mercury such as ALA. Recommended to do that Andy Cutler style for more safety and effectiveness. This can be done about 3-6 months following last amalgam removal.
But you can monitor your own symptoms and decide how you want to go. You can still encourage excretion of mercury with the healthy foods and fats, plus having hot baths with epsom salts to encourage the sweat via the pores. And walking for exercise (treadmill or outdoors) and/or rebounding on a rebounder. All those things are helpful to a toxic person.
But to me, diet is the first and the major foundation, the rest is supplementary. And taking antioxidants and essential fatty acids is another big one. Like mercury free cod liver oil, along with the rest of the fats and diet.
