Not necessarily, there are dentists that have had to leave their profession due to becoming so sensitive and toxic with mercury that they can no longer even enter a dental office without becoming ill.

No everybody has a problem and some people's body's for reasons I don't understand appear to cope better with mercury than others. Most people have fillings, but you might also notice, most people aren't really radiantly healthy either, they maybe "ok", but most people I know of are average at best and even then can have issues from their amalgams, but manage them and are able to get on with life.

other people can get a full blown toxicity illness from them, perhaps due to not having ability to excrete it. mercury is accumulative and in those like myself who retain it, rather than eliminate, the result can be a disaster.

Also I am sensitive it too, but I believe that it just goes hand in hand, you're dealing with one of th emost toxic substances known to man, so it is hardly surprising and the most foolish place to put it, in the mouth.

It's amazing what some people can endure over the years, but put enough load on the body and once it succumbs? That person may struggle from that point on and not be able to overcome the mercury as they once were. problem with mercury is, the body can fight against it and try and cope daily, seem to be ok, then wham, a person can get some other illness and suddenly end up with mercury poisoning, simply because their system has buckled under other strains and is unable to fight against the mercury.

There are many reasons why people get sick and others seem to "get away with it". Genetics, immune system, other health challenges, etc.

An example of this is, my whole family (apart from my father) have amalgams. They all have normal lives, though I could not say they are all radiantly healthy, they're normal. Me? It did not work out that way and I wish I knew why.

I was poisoned by them and showed obvious signs of mercury poisoning not long after I had braces put on my teeth. Interestingly, braces or other metals, can worsen mercury toxicity by the combination of metal in the mouth and increase the uptake of mercury. That was the last straw for me and sent me into mercury toxicity and even though the braces were removed, I did not come right from then on. Though other people had braces, I was one who got extremely ill. Yes I happen to have metal allergy, but there is more to it than that. I got toxic also and showed signs of it by having tremors, uncontrollable salivation fits, cold body temperature and shivering, blue nails, metal taste in the mouth, smelling of metal, crying excessively for no reason, very typical toxic symptoms from mercury. So if it was just "allergy", I would not have gotten direct toxic symptoms at the sametime. Also, upon any exposure to mercury, I end up ill and it takes me many months to finally get more of it back out of my system. IT is a nightmare for me and worse when people decide because they have them and are "ok", then you must be making it up or exaggerating.

I've heard of people coping for years with their amalgams, and then getting some other illness that knocks their immune system and ending up mercury toxic after that.

It can happen to anybody for many reasons.
