Well, Richard, I had my metal fillings replaced - because I suspected my health problems were due in large part to mercury content in my fillings. I didnt learn this from any scare tactic report- but deduced this on my own after reading about what low grade mercury toxicity symptoms are.
My filling replacements were not costly but very affordable. I paid them out of my own pocket as dental insurance will only cover for metal amalgam fillings. I had mine replaced two at a time from Spring to Fall and I didnt go to a holistic dentist, but a regular one who uses a really good composite/porcelain filing.
I also researched proper protocol needed by myself and the dentist while removing my old fillings- and though my dentist thought I was a nut, he was gracious enough to cooperate.
My gums have improved greatly, I no longer taste metal in my mouth when eating acidic fruits or abrasiveness during teeth cleanings, etc., and I no longer experience dizzy spells or brain fog.
What I noticed lately is that I used to have to keep repeating a phone number in my head or I'd forget it by the time I dialed it. Now I can read a phone number in the phone book and my short term memory retains it. I think you should do more research into silver amalgam filling side effects before jumping to any conclusions that it is all hype. . I reccomend you read Dr. Hal Huggins book, "I't's All in Your Head."
I read this AFTER I decided to have my fillings replaced-- and it benefitted me in how to detox and what supplementation I needed to concentrate on after all fillings were replaced.
