Does anyone know if it is possible to catch Candida from your partner as Keith has symptoms of it!

I think that the person already would have a problem themselves with it. He may already have candida himself, which may flare up with contact with you.
But that is not your fault, both partners usually have to address their diet when that occurs.

Hi Tracy, I've read that one as well, it's shocking. I guess because it's an opportunistic organism, it can simply get right out of control and take over. Sometimes the best we can do is simply try and control it a little more.

That would explain why he is getting symptoms and probably why you guys are all unwell. Whatever is causing it is another story, but candida just comes along for the ride.
ONe of the ways to tell if you have candida is when you go off sugars, yeasts, gluten grains, milk, fruit etc, is the reaction you start getting. The die off. That's pretty diagnositic on its own.
It's very hard for a person with candida to stick to the diet, because the very thing they're trying to eradicate is crying out to be fed. It takes a lot of will power and patience to starve it. The best thing is to fill up on foods you CAN eat, so you don't allow yoruself to be vulnerable to cheating.
Like eating plenty of proteins (meats, eggs, liver, chicken) and healthy fats (butter, lard, extra virgin olive oil, organic virgin coconut oil) and safe vegetables (no potatoes/beans/peas/carrots/corn, they're too high in natural sugar). You can get away with eating some raw nuts like almonds and brazil and maybe some plain sugar free acidophilus yoghurt, but caution is advised.
It's not easy to do, but you get used to it after time. Drinks include water and herb tea. Some people reckon they can still have coffee and tea (no sugar or milk), but caffeine can stress the adrenals, which you're trying to heal and take stress off.

Hey Tracey, Bex is right on the money again...as per usual!!!
Heavy metal toxicity causes candida, it is one of our bodies protective mechanisms to protect us from ravages of heavy metals. The yeast cells surround the heavy metals and when we kill it off, it releases the mercury and then the body expels it. That is why it is important to kill it slowly...and just doing the diet will help you feel better and will help the chelation process big time. In fact some people can chelate just by doing a strict candida diet.
Doing the diet starves the yeast and then as it dies off it will make you crave comfort foods...like sugars and starches. Don't give in though, cause that is the first step to feeling better...you may have to feel worse before you feel better. But don't look at denying yourself these foods as a hardship, cause you are doing your body a big favor by killing those darned yeastie beasties!!!
Your digestion will improve and your sense of well being will improve by leaps and bounds...give it a try and just see how it works.
best luck sweetie and feel better soon!!!
