I finally found a dentist that uses Diamond lite and he was trained by Huggins. I was totally excited.
I drove down for a consultation......I thought this is the right dentist but then a week later we had a phone consultation and he wants to charge me $20,000.00 and that's if he can pull 7 teeth. I think this is outrageous!!!
I don't know what it is about me but every dentist that sees me, gets greedy. I even asked for a discount......which is very hard for me to do but I actualy did it.
Originally when I called, I asked how much a crown costs and I was told $885.00, which is really a great price......every other dentist that has placed a crown for me, the price of the crown always includes the labor, (cleaning, setting, placement, ect.) But this guy is charging two seperate charges; one for the mercury removal and temporary crowns, and the second for the actual crowns. Which would mean each crown costs $1800.00.
I've asked for an itemized statement from him but he hasn't sent one yet.
I'm disappointed and I don't know what to do.
Does anyone have any advice? Elaine

I had to pay close to $14,000.00 to have my amalgams replaced with crowns. I was shocked. Had to borrow thousands of dollars to have this poison taken out of my mouth. The only way that I could live with it was to tell myself that the dentist and staff that take them out are taking them out knowing the danger to themselves and the patient. Just the same, I do think that there is a bit of greed going on in this field too.
Looking back...I'd do it again. I am improving with a low dose chelation. Of course, it's an individual choice and results vary. You have to be patient. But, as I said, I'd do it again given the same circumstances.

One thing that I didn't mention. If I had to do it again, I would have seen more than one biological dentist. Then I would have made my decision based on protocol, experience, and cost.

That is absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!! I would call that criminal. Steer clear of him. He is out for a buck and to rob sick people blind like that with those charges, shows what kind of person he probably is.
Keep looking and find a dentist that is biologic, but not out to ruin you financially. Phone around, email, look online, do anything!! but don't go to that person, that is shocking. Fancy charging something like that? Who on earth does he think he is? Getting rich off other peope's misery.
Shop elsewhere, that's my advice.

Thanks Bex and Anonymous! I am still going to have this poison removed....I just don't want a thief to get any money from me.
I have talked to dozens and dozens of dentists, but when I go in and meet them, the price always goes waaaay up.....they will quote me a price for crowns and then when they tell me the total, the price for a crown is doubled or tripled.
And I'm going broke paying for the inital visits and consult fees.
I asked this guy for an itemized statement, I want to see exactly what he is chargeing for everything.
I am so disheartened....I really thought this guy was the one......he had everything I was praying for.
Thanks for ya'll's advice....I'll start emailing again.....unfortunately I have to wait until Monday before I can start calling again. I need a go-between....someone that can talk to the dentists and get a firm commitment from them before I go in.
Thanks again, Elaine

Elaine,
If you live in the US, you can apply for a grant to help cover the costs of the amalgam removal. Jigsaw Health Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people get their amalgams removed, and they accept applications for people who need help covering the costs.
I wouldn't have been able to get mine removed if it weren't for them. THey found a dentist who takes the proper precautions, and after a free initial consultation, agreed to do my removals pro bono, due to Jigsaw. So my insurance company paid a good chunk of it, because people often have to get fillings replaced and they cover part of that in general. But then you are left with the costs of the composites, which are more money, and then any other costs from the special removal procedure. After insurance, they donated the rest of the work as the Jigsaw grant.
$20,000 does seem outrageous to me, so if at all possible, I would try to find another dentist. But if that's not what you choose, or it isn't an option, look into whether or not your insurance would pay for some of it (they cover them for the reasons of them being cracked or old - and they don't ask for a reason from the dentist. they just won't cover them if you say you're getting them removed because of mercury). And look into Jigsaw too - they are super helpful. If they can't find a dentist to donate services, for a small amount of applicants, they will pay for part of the work.
Good luck getting this all worked out.

Hi Elaine, I am so sorry to hear of what you're going through and all the payments you're having to make, just from trying to find a dentist, let alone get one to finally do the work.
I too have wasted so much money on consultations, testing and supplements from dentists and never actually getting any work done, that I feel sick at the thought of the wasted money and never improving from any of the regimes I was put on and to find that yet another appointment gets made and on it goes.
It's like going around in nightmarish circles and paying out money over and over, yet getting nothing done.
I have to wonder who some of these dentists think they are with what they are doing. i honestly feel that some, perhaps many, are cashing in on vulnerable and sick patients looking for answers.
I hope dearly that you find a good dentist, an honest one who is not simply after the big dollar.
Take care and best wishes to you on this!

Hi Tia,
I don't have any dental insurance. So no one cares why I want my amalgams out.
And Jigsaw is being over-run with applications for help. I guess I could throw my name into the mix....I just figured I didn't have a chance.
But I will try it and thank you, it is really good to hear from someone who has recieved help from Jigsaw! Elaine

Hi Bex,
I'm really sorry to hear that you are having to go through this also. Although, I'll admit, I don't feel as alone as I was feeling.
I'm thinking about working up a form letter that I can send to dentists and it will begin with, "Hi, I'm looking for an honest dentist." Then I can list all my questions and if they answer, I will have their replies in writting.
It's really very sad....dentists are the ones that did this to us in the first place and I use to think they were dishonest because the mercury was affecting their brains also, but these new, biological dentists take precautions to protect themselves......and yet they seem to be more dishonest then the others!
Thank you for your reply and I hope you also will find a good, honest dentist to help you! Elaine

HI Elaine, yes I agree. It's so hard to find a good honest biologic dentist and sadly yes it does seem some of them are worse than the general dentist!!! Shocker eh? I guess they go into it for the money and the motivation to help probably starts to go into the background as the money side begins to take a hold. It's a great pity that the very profession that caused us these problems in the first place, now makes money out of us to 'fix" them. what a joke!!! They should be keeping their charges low for thsoe seeking mercury removal, as they are all responsible, they've all been into it and keeping their charges low for that should be automatic and a way of them trying to rectify the damage they've all done as a profession. But instead of doing that, they do the opposite, cash in.
I don't blame all, as I realise they have their own costs and overheads to pay out for, which is no doubt a lot, but this overcharging is criminal, especially in light of what they've done to human beings.
Sounds like a good idea what you're going to do. Also point out that you would like an honest estimate and not one that dramtically alters later on

Best luck in finding a good honest holistic dentist Elaine, I will pray that you soon get some help. There are some out there, but unfortunately the good ones are very expensive. I realize they have expensive equipment and high overheads, but something of them do take it too far.
But don't give up on Jigsaw, and in the meantime try to stick to the candida diet...it will help you from methylating more mercury.
Best wishes on your healing journey, keep us posted ok?
Sandi xoxo

Thanks Bex and Sandi,
The nicest thing I call dentists is they are all dirty rotten scroundrels .....hee hee.
I don't mind (as much) if they tell me up front, what their costs are. I had one dentist tell me he charges $1400.00 per crown.....(I would go to that guy but he's on the east coast and that's just too far for me).
But this guy told me he charges $885.00 per crown, and then he gives me this outrageous price. That's what I find offensive. ********* Sandi....I am sooo far off any good diet.....I'm embarrassed to say it out loud. I'm taking my supplements but my diet is not what it should be.
Thanks again ya'll, Elaine
