I, like you, have been reading Duncan Crow's advice on the candidiasis forum, and wonder about his inulin / undenatured whey approach. What do you think of it? It could just be another wheeze, or it could be worth a go. There is an alarm bell going off in my brain about the undenatured whey, but I'm not sure why. Is it something Cutler counsels against? I'm not sure about the inulin either - I know I do not tolerate FOS, and think inulin will probably be the same. But people are apparently getting results from these supplements.
Are you tempted to give it a go, or are you sticking to Bee's diet?

Hi Nicola, yep, I'm thinking the same thing. Not sure about it, though it seems some are getting good results. I cannot really afford to buy this and that anymore and bring new things onboard, so don't havea lot of choice right now.
I don't know if Duncan is just into a sales pitch or he's genuinely onto something, perhaps a bit of both. I can't be certain.
I am pretty much sticking to Bee's diet (mostly), but am having some plain acidophilus yoghurt, and a few raw nuts (almonds/brazil) daily, so in that respect I guess I'm cheating, but I find her diet is almost too stringent for me. I very rarely have any grain and if I do, it's gluten free, but mainly I do stick to her diet an deat all the proteins and fats. I don't however, buy into her idea of consuming that amount of fat everyday. I do not see that as being normal or natural at all!!! However, I use the fats liberally in cooking and do eat some teaspoons of coconut oil a day, but nothing to what she says.
I think common sense comes into a lot of it too. Let me know if you try the undenatured whey....yep I think Andy is not for it in regards to mercury toxic people, possibly because it may mobilise it, but I'm unsure.
Bex.

You are following the diet in the same sort of way as me. I find that coconut oil gives me palps, so I go easy on that, taking maybe 3-5 teaspoons a day. I also eat almonds, because I need something to snack on. Can't do yoghurt.
I saw a programme on TV which did an experiment on how to increase the good bacteria in the gut. They took two teams - fed one lot yoghurt, kefir and other foods high in probiotics, and fed the other lot prebiotics, although I can't remember what now. Some sort of salad leaves. After a week they tested the quantity of good bacteria in their respective guts and found it was highest in those who had been eating prebiotics.... The joghurt and probiotics drinks had no effect on bowel flora.
This kind of backs up Duncan's theory, so I am minded to give at least the prebiotics side of thingsa go. There is something steering me off undenatured whey, so I'll leave that for now.
Let me know what you decide.
Nicola
