Hi Joe, to live with this toxicity, even if it's only contributing can be something quite indescribeable, and you can try and stop thinking a certain way or doing certain things and trying not to have anxiety or odd fears and you will be fighting a toxin, not your true self. And the frustration of taking this or that to attempt to help your brain work better can be near impossible with that going on.
The anti depressants are a typical prescription for a mercury toxic person, most of us have been down that road! And to no avail. Some maybe lucky and find an antidepressant that helps, but most of us find them causing side effects more than anything. That is why the candida diet can help in that area, though it's not a cure.
your cheating on the diet doesn't surprise me at all, sugar etc is probably as addictive as hard drugs. You need will power and patience to gain improvement from some of those symptoms, as mercury and candida do go hand in hand.
However, again, you may simply wish to concentrate on getting your amalgams removed, but if you find symptoms are intolerable? you'd do yourself the wise thing at this time in the meantime, by going on that diet and being strong. Truly, it can be a lifesaver and also will help your body eliminate some of those metals easier also. But that's up to you. Going on the diet half pie, or temporarily is pointless. When you start, you must keep going and remain strict without cheating in order to begin gaining results. and the results can improve a person mentally also and lift depression and ease anxiety, sometimes pretty miraculously.
You may find this link here of interest regarding amalgams/toxicity etc
http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache...p;amp;gl=nz&ct=clnk&cd=5I can send you that in the PDF proper file version if you would like, but you'd need to give me your email address, but that link should be ok, it's a rougher version of it and you can save it if you want.
Though that file/link mentions candida and thinks mercury removal is a better option, and to not bother treating candida int he meantime. I do not entirely agree with that. I do understand what they mean about not "killing" candida with antifungals, because that can be risky if the candida happens to contain a lot of mercury (if it's killed aggressively in large number by antifungals, it can pop open and release the contents, some of which might be mercury....)
But reducing candida by starving it to death naturally by the diet is pretty crucial for symptom relief and healing and that should always be emphasized. Antifungals are a last resort if a person's candida infection is not responding to diet, depending on how bad it is.
Also the candida diet is not just for yeast, it is a healthy way of eating regardless and that's the entire point, to build health by good foods, eliminate toxins by ridding the bad/junk foods completely, and the good side effect of the body reducing yeast levels in the process.
Supplements etc are not of much use when you are not absorbing nutrients properly from any toxicity, candida or otherwise. When you have reduce candida levels in your gut etc, then you'll find you aborb nutrients better from your food and supplements and start to see results.
anyway, I've said more than enough on the candida front, but at least you know the option is there should you wish to do it.
I'm glad you like this forum, it's a help to me too and people here are all struggling in many different ways and are a great help and support to eachother! I hope that this journey will bring you the health you deserve.
