Hi, Wild yam is main ingredient to "Progesterone Cream" - used to control women's hormones during their cycle. We refer to this as "PMS" cream. It helps to level out the hormones, making my wife and daughter easier to get along with on a consistant basis. It is taken according to direction for best results during the cycle. How this is affecting your sugar levels, I do not know. But it does control the level of estrogen during the "off" part of the cycle. Somehow, your estrogen level is affecting your ability to handle the sugar. Perhaps your eating habits are affected by the mood changes (most women have a little bit of this). You have to cut out the wild yam during the "on" part of your cycle for good results. My wife had Obstetric Cholestasis where her liver malfunctioned only during pregnancy. Her gall bladder is marginal and might have been a contributing factor. Your thyroid may have become overworked during pregnancy due to the extra body mass. Pregnancy may have been the issue which taxed an already weak thyroid. Estrogen levels are somehow complicating the whole scheme. Use the wild yam at the right times. Have your thyroid tested. Try Chromium and Vanadium to get your thyroid working again.
