I don't want to start another controversy on here, but on this website Dr El-Essawy says that people should experience immediate improvement after amalgam removal, and if you don't, it hasn't been done properly, and there is still amalgam under the new fillings.

How does this stack against Andy Cutler's view (and my own experience) that it takes a good year or two to get improvement if you are seriously toxic? First the fast body pools are mobilised, then after six months, the slow body pools. This leads to increased symptoms - this has definitely been my experience. Cutler says the only way to deal with the symptoms is to chelate, chelate and chelate, and then chelate some more, with expected chelation time 2-3 years for seriously ill people.

Or is the six month worsening because my dentist did not do a good job, and there is still amalgam under my new fillings? Is this just a scam? What has others' experiences been?

Ok, well my experience was odd. First I had an IMMEDIATE worsening from the last amalgam removals when I swallowed the mercury. So it's hard for me to judge how it woudl have been otherwise.

Then, when that slightly improved, I had a time of almost remission of symptoms. I was slimmer in build, lighter and felt different. However, later down the track, possibly a year, maybe less, things worsened out of the blue for no apparent reason.

It was like being respoisoned. I did not know abut this second phase of suffering, and didn't know what was happening to me. I was in a dreadful state and recognise now it was mercury coming out of my tissues again, my body starting to dump the storage back out.

It was a nightmare. How else can I describe something that is almost indescribeable? I tried to speed this process up and aid it by using mobilising agents, but seeked to only make things worse, INTOLERABLY worse though temporarily. But this seemed to be the only way to speed things up. I was constantly being forced into a nightmare of symptoms, then receding, then back to nightmare. It was like, no sooner had my body erupted in another excretion episode to rid some more mercury, than I'd get a clearer patch, then wham, more mercury would come up to the surfce and on it went.

It took me about.... 2-3 years of this hell on earth to come properly out of it. I did proper chelation in the last stages, which enabled me to do more detoxing without explosive and horrific symptoms. which was Andy' Cutler's way.

However, even after I improved, I went down hill into another nightmare caused by other health issues, which I have struggled with ever since for years now. No chelation can help with what I have now.

But I can certainly say this phenomenon does exist, there can be a time for many patients that is like a repoisoning time, to where the stored mercury can dump back into the blood. It can be extreme.

perhaps if I had things done perfectly with the removal, maybe things would not have occured int hat way, I don't know, i can't tell. I only know how it was for me.

According to Cutler people will see initial improvement after removal. Then get worse for a few months. I think the 6 month worsening is missunderstood. Cutler says people will feel better for 2-3 months, then worse (organs dropping mercury in the bloodstream) and worst 6 months after removal. He doesn't say that you will suddenly have mercury symptoms 6 months after removal.

I bought cutlers book 1 month after I had my amalgams removed. I felt very good in this period and I when I read about this I could not believe that this would happen to me.
But it did. 3 months later I felt worse than ever. I am 6 months past removal and slowly recovering now.

I had an immediate improvement after removal, not 100%, but still very impressive. (my dentist did not look for vapor under my teeth.)

I think that some people can improve and get rid of symptoms 100% without chelation. Cutlers protocol is for people that are seriously toxic in my opinion.

As far as I know El Essawy says, that people will need 6-12 months to get rid of their mercury symptoms. Cutler says 1 year to feel better but you will never be 100% cured without chelation.

As someone who is suffering with suicidal depression every day and trying to look at all angles of detox, i personally think too much emphasis is put on Cutler and his methods. There are lots of mercury experts who haven't written books, but get no mention on this site. Dr Klinghardt, the brainchild of Autonomic Response Testing is one. Dr Tim Ray, the inventor of NDF and Biological Terrain Management is another. I personally wasn't impressed with Cutlers rudeness in an email to me. He says chlorella is useless, which shows his lack of knowledge that NDF is not normal chlorella, and is scientifically proven to be the best chelator in the world. As for El-Essawy, it's something i would consider if all other prominent approaches fail. But i'm interested to hear all your opinions, and i'm sure Cutlers detox has helped many.

well I did not listen to cutler, and tried NDF and cilantro. I would say that it is the most dangerous chelator in the world. Ok it is probably unfair to say that it is 'most dangerous chelator in the world'. But I would be extremely careful with this product. It's natural but it is not harmless and you can experience very bad side effects from this.

I don't say that cutler is always right, but I didnt listen to him 2 times and found out that I was wrong and he was right.

I meant in general about Cutler, not any individual. And i have to emphatically disagree if you were refering to NDF as being dangerous. It's only dangerous if sufferers do it their own way. The inventor of NDF has made it very clear that a person should only use it when their body is ready to handle it, which is why he uses sophisticated methods of testing. So that he knows when they are ready, and what doses they need.

My experience was an immediate state of bliss (the next day or two), and then a roller coaster ride for the following few months which included good days and bad days but had a definite upward trend.

i felt terrible after each removal, i started last december, finished in April 06, it took me at least 6 months to have good weeks, before then i was getting the odd good day.
i felt better before removal, slowly im getting better i think, it seems like a lifetime though. dawn.

thanks for these responses. It's good to know that my experience isn't unusual!! This makes me think that people are either lucky to experience continuous improvement due to removal of mercury vapour under the fillings, or it's a marketing thing. If it was that important I'm sure Huggins would have emphasised it.

does anyone know about gold filling? My dentist wants to use gold in the back and says it is safe.

I would say that depends if you have any sesitivity to gold I have never been able to wear gold jewellry and when I had a Melissa test done for sensitivity to metals it showed up that I was sensitive to gold, so I would imagine this applies to teeth as well. Tracy

My experience is that I had my amalgam out through other dentists and failed to improve. I had mercury vapour removed by hesham el-essawy and improved immediately and am now 100%. I am therefore living proof that it works!

The dentist I went to see actually mentions that approximately 50% of the population are sensitive to gold, so he wouldnt use it.

Also to make matters worse its not always local. For example if you are sensitive to your wedding ring, it doesnt have to be a rash on your finger, it can cause problems elsewhere in your body, which makes it more difficult to find out that the ring is a cause of your problem.

My thoughts are that recovery is dependent upon where one is just before amalagmectomy-high systemic Hg or low Hg. Personally, I was at a low point although not as symptomatic as some accounts, perhaps worsened slightly or leveled off and recovered about 50% in 1-2 years, and am 85-89% recovered 6 years on sans chelation.

Like everything in life and in health care, everyone responds an an individual basis(unfortunately).
