HI Dawn, I"m sorry I missed your post!! You are very welcome and I can only hope you are hanging in there and the DMSA is doing "something" at the very least.
Hi anon, from Andy's teaching, not taking the ALA every 3-4 hours and doing something else is what may cause mercury to go into the brain. This is why he says it is better to take it every 3-4 hours, even if you have to take a tiny tiny dose, rather than taking a one off dose, or a three times a day dose or any other way. Broken sleep is far better than increased brain mercury. He knows it's annoying, but this is the only way to keep levels more even and ensure mercury is escorted out, rather than moved into worse areas. ONe only has to do that for 3 days on and take a break of 3 days or longer and then 3 days on again and repeat. I don't think waking up every 4 hours is such a deal when you think of the risks otherwise. In fact, it is so risky, that he's altered it to every 3 hours, due to some people STILL getting some redistribution. However, a person 'can" extend it to every 4 hours over night, so long as they go back to every 3 during the day. But even this can be risky. That is how bad it can be.
It's up to the individual what they wish to do and what they are willing to risk. Personally, I would do about 12.5 mg every 3 hours for 3 days, as that appears to be the safest. What do you take ALA with?
