I tried to add my comments, calling for the dentists to admit that they were poisoning generations of people, but somehow it didn't make it past the editor. What a surprise.

Rather than taxing the deceased, maybe the Government should tax the dentists. They are the ones who are placing the mercury into people's mouths to begin with. And they are the ones (along with whatever Dental Association oversees the dentists in a given country) who are insisting that mercury be used.
Furthermore, perhaps dentists should be charged an additional "environmental tax" or an "environmental surcharge" because they insist upon using such a toxic substance when today there are so many better, healthier, less-toxic options for filling teeth.
For the most part, the "dental establishment" doesn't care about the health of patients, states, countries -- water supply, air, soil -- because they are continually poisoning the planet with the mercury they stubbornly insist on using. I fear that the only way to get these unconscionable creatures to stop is to hit them where it hurts..... in the wallet. Then maybe they'll stop using mercury.

Wow. I never even thought of this. Yet another way to poison us. I live in a big city, so I'm sure there is a crematorium around somewhere. chigirl
