One thing which really bothers me is my low self esteem. I've been timid and shy all of my life. I've read that can be a symptom of mercury poisoning. Who else has experience that and has it lessened during chelation?

I think it can be a symptom of poisoning because of relation to depression. I wasn't shy until I got fillings - quite the contrary. I was very outgoing, wanted to be in everything at school, play the lead, really be noticed - but once I started to get amalgams, I got very withdrawn and couldn't even face reading in class. I don't know if that is coincidence, but it happened. I am still very introvert today and don't do well in social situations.

low self esteem and shyness were one the first things that disappeared after removal. I always thought that my shyness was a part of my personality now I know that it was mercury poisoning. I still have many mercury symptoms but shyness is no longer a problem. Now I can't even understand why i was shy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> It is irrational and makes no sense.

Hi Aaron, I've been the same most of my life, though I must have had a naturally outoing personality, as I still managed to get friends (in the early days), but something always held me back.
Later on in life, I got far worse and became house bound for reasons I could not understand, I just had the urge to always hide and so it is to this day. Yes, my self esteem isn't good either. I just don't think I actually know who i really am, nor have I been given the chance.

Sounds like my life all over again...wow, this is amazing. I was a scared chicken all my life...and just now am starting to feel some semblance of self worth and confidence happening. I just never felt like I measured up and no amount of assurance could convince me that I did a good job.

Aaron,
Low self esteem had been the story of my life. Dramatic shyness, fear of social events, hating the prospect of facing people, fear of authority, fear of confrontation...
This all left me with the removal of my amalgam fillings.
Gone.
Now, when someone says confrontation, I say, "Bring it on."
