I am looking into treating the candida before having my amalgams removed. I have two questions...
1) Is there a significant difference in effectiveness between Theralac and Threelac? I know one is in capsule form with 5 probiotics and one is in powder form with 3, but I haven't found a good comparison between the two for effectiveness.
2) Would it be advisable to take Algin simultaneously? I have read that killing the candida may release mercury.
Thanks for your help...I still have a lot to learn.

Killing the candida too aggressively will release too much mercury too fast. I would advise to do a very gentle colon cleanse with psyllium or algin just to get the elimination systems cleared of candida. That way when you start to chelate you will be able to eliminate the metals more efficiently.
I used a combo shake of psyllium, bentonite and caprylic acid in olive oil and it worked great for me. But I also used a whole bunch of other antifungals at the same time...I wanted to kill it all in a day...and I thought I was dying. I had no idea about hmt then....I was just focused on killing the candida. Since then I have realized that they go hand in hand. Do go slow...cause the yeast is the body's way of protecting us from the ravagaging effects of mercury. In fact, some people cannot tolerate any antifungals until they reduce some of the mercury levels.
The most important thing is to eliminate sugar, dairy and gluten to clean out the gut and take a good probiotic like Natren's Healthy Trinity to restore the good flora. You can kill a good portion of the candida just by taking away it's food sources. Those steps alone will help to reduce the yeast population and you may not need any antifungals at the moment. Do you have a good ND to advise you or do some testing? That is very important if you can afford it.
The approach you need to take all depends on how severe your digestion is and how heavy a metal burden that you have. Mercury toxicity is an enigma and affects us all so very differently..what is good treatment for one may be disastrous for another.
Hope this helps some and didn't confuse you more <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> and best luck with your detoxing.
Sandi xoxo

oops forgot to address the Threelac...I have heard mixed reviews about Threelac...I can't help you there. If it were me, I would just follow the diet, take a good probiotic and see where that takes you. Algin will help clean up some of the dying yeast as would psyllium and flax as well.

Hi yes I have used threelac for the past year.. and even though it is still a long road to get rid of candida I have found it one of the best things I have used. It is expensive.
With candida you have to treat it from every angle. Build the immune system. Kill the candida and build up the good stuff.
Good luck
