Hi everyone. I'll try to be brief I got my 9 amalgams removed in july 2004. my teeth were so damaged from the large fillings that i couldn't have them refilled, so i need caps and 2 bridges. i didn't go to a holistic dentist (wish i did). anyway... for 2 months after the removal i felt wonderful. gone were the anxiety, nervousness and skin hives i had always had since i was a kid. i didn't go to the dentist for those 2 months, when i did go back-my dentist decided i needed my bite opened..so he took all my temp bridges & crowns and replaced them with higher ones. i got severe TMJ...(which still comes and goes). anyway... ever since i went back to the dentist all my symtoms came back, just like i had all my amagams in my mouth. did going back to the dentist stir up things?? why did all the symtoms dissappear for 2 months then reappear?? i am not on any detox program, i think i have some candda, since my tongue gets really white and i have started colonics since i get constipation. any thoughts. btw, this is a wonderful site. janey.

Janey,
I would most certainly find out what material the Dentist used both the first and second time. Find out the brand name and the name of the manufacturer. You should be able to call the office and just ask them. Be nice but you have a right to know.
You can then get an MSDS (material safety data sheet) and find out more about the ingredients. I'll be happy to help you with this process.
Candida is a classic symptom of mercury exposure.
Have your eating habits changed since the appointment? Did you chew gum for a while and then stop and then start again? Have you been eating more suphur foods like eggs lately?
Let us know?

thx for your response. i just emailed the dentist asking what materials he used. i really didn't want to talk to him. i've suffered from this nervousness for 4 months. i was so happy when all the metal was removed, my health improved so much, and now i feel just as bad as when i had them all in my mouth. i hope to find an answer to all of this

Hi! I am getting ready to get my fillings out next week. I have been ill for a year and a half and am hoping that the mercury is at least part of my illness and will get better once it is removed. My daughter had her only filling removed and replaced in Dec. and now she is ill with fatigue, neck and head pressure, pressure in her eyes, no motivation (normally very active and vibrant young lady). It concerns me and I don't really understand why people get so sick after. I hope to to find the answers to help my daughter and to prepare for whatever I am in for!

This is very serious. The symptoms you mentioned are typical of mercury poisoning.
Your daughter may be suffering from low T3 (thyroid hormone levels), low ATP (the fuel of cells), low thyroid function (because of mercury interfering with iodine), low blood sugar (because of mercury interfering with selenium) or a host of other things.
Different amalgam fillings can affect the same person very differently due to the following factors:
(1) The ratio of other metals in the filling can be different (like copper) and cause outgassing (vapor to come off the filling) at a different rate.
(2) Surface voltage on the fillings may be different. Amalgams are small batteries producing voltage close to jaw nerves which are connected to brain motor control areas.
(3) Many other factors.
Was the previous filling removed by a dentist trained in mercury safety? Is the new filling amalgam ("silver") or some other material?
The good news is that there is a lot that can be done in the mean time with diet and supplementation.
The bad news is that you may not expect her to get better and other more serious symptoms can develop over time. If this is indeed mercury, something should be done.
Please let us know how it goes.

There definitely is an answer.
Everything has a cause and finding that cause is half the battle. Sounds like you're on your way.
Let me know what material was used when you find out.

Hi, My daughter had only one filling and she had it removed by a dentist who was on the Huggins list. The tooth had broken away from the filling some months ago and she didn't have anything done because of lack of funds. So when she was home for Christmas we took her to this dentist. It appeared that he did everything right and the new filling is a white filling. I had her go to a IAOMT dentist where she lives and he did a complete xray and said that where the filling is it's very deep and he is going to take the filling out and see what is going on underneath. He did say that it looks like all of the mercury is out. After she had the filling removed about two weeks later, she went to India. She thinks from the food she became extremely constipated which isn't normally a problem for her. I know that would have been a bad deal just getting the mercury removed. It is hard to watch her be so sick, when she is so young, just married and is trying to finish an internship. Thanks for any advice!

As a personal experiment, she could try eating high sulphur foods for a couple days and see if she develops mercury symptoms. She could then try taking Algin for several days and see of the symptoms subside. This might at least get her started as to what the baseline issue is. I would also recommend Cascara Sagrada for constipation. It's a natural supplement and works great. Let me also refer you to the NSP Exchange as it is monitored by Alternative Health Practitioners who may have more suggestions. Please keep us posted.

OK, I've done a little research and decided to create an online database of dental material MSDS's whenever they are requested. Here is a link to the new section. Herb Allure Reference Section Hopefully this will help us make informed decisions. Thanks.

It may be wise to detox gently. Perhaps you should try taking Algin daily for a couple weeks and see if you notice a change. It does wonders for me and would help indicate a heavy metal -related issue.
Also, make sure there isn't any other dietary change that could be the cause. For example, do you have NutraSweet (aspartame)? Any other dietary changes? Flu shot (it contains mercury)?
It makes most sense that the visit to the dentist was the culprit but it's always good to explore all possibilities.

To get Algin... Just call us at: 1-800-358-4278 (Ask for Laura. She's my business partner and she's a walking dictionary about herbs and supplements.) Or visit our website at: Only The Best Herbs (Herb Allure)Or here's a link right to the Algin page: Algin I don't think it's necessary to do the test again. If I were in your position, I would be more inclined to experiment with various supplements for short periods to try to isolate the real cause or source. There is a cause somewhere and if the symptoms match mercury, it's best to start with those most likely. You know, perhaps someone else has suffered the same situation. Perhaps you could call Hal Huggins office and ask if they've heard of this or if they know someone you could ask. Actually, the more I think about this, the more it bugs me. Do you believe the dentist is giving you the name of the materials he used on the first visit instead of the second? This seems like the most logical conclusion. I know you don't want to speak to the dentist but have you told him about this problem? I believe he needs to know. You may also want to call another dentist office (a "natural" dentist) or call the IAOMT. They seem concerned about this issue and may have advice for you. I'm sure it's frustrating. Let us know what you decide to try.

Hmmm... I don't know anything about a glutathione inhaler. Try posting your message here: http://nspexchange.comThere are a lot of health professionals listening that may have an answer. For brain detox, I would use alpha-lipoic acid but I would not try it without Algin. http://hocd.herballure.com/?MID=37375322668919885740&AID=20600991213928812548ALA increases production of glutathione. For brain liver, etc detox, I take whey protein mixed with NSP's Ph Green Zone daily. Protein contain cystine which bears a sulfur binding site which loves to bind to mercury. The green zone contains chlorella which is good for detox. A few people have tolerance issues with chlorella, however. http://hocd.herballure.com/?MID=88852544891447403116Hope this helps.
