Hi. I don't have carpal tunnel syndrome, but I was diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome. This is similar to CTS except the "tunnel" is in the elbow instead of the wrist and it effects the ulnar nerve instead of the median nerve. Symptoms include a burning aching feeling around the elbow, especially at night. Numbness in the hand on the side of the little finger. Usually the last 2 or 3 fingers. The nerve is most compressed when the elbow is flexed, so you may notice more numbness when doing something with the elbow flexed ie: talking on the phone or reading a book.
Just wanted to say that my symptoms have decreased a lot sinse I had my fillings replaced and started chelation. Right now the symptoms are totally gone, but they do come back for brief periods at times. I did have therapy with some success, but believe I will not be totally free of it until I get rid of more mercury from my body.

Congratulations on getting rid of the symptoms.

The more we learn about mercury, the more I believe it's behind countless diseases because of the numerous ways in which it reacts with the body.

In short, higher doses of Vitamin C may help since mercury prohibits it's utilization in some ways. I also used an herbal combination during an injury that I suspect may help, although I'm not sure (would love to know).

I have an Aunt with this and would love to see her recover.

I am also recovering fom severe CTS in both hands. 10 minutes of typing would bring on numbness esp in the last two fingers. In addition, various foods inflame my nerves. Eating jalepenos gives me a icy/hot feeling in my hands. I also have sensative nerves in my back/legs (sciatica), jaw and ear (tinnitus). Thus far I have finished 3 rounds of low dose chelation. Each round is 3 days of DMSA every 3 hrs totaling 300mg. The last one seems to have aggravated the nerves in my hands, jaw and ear. What chelation protocol/medication are you using?

Sounds vaguely familiar to my first experiences with IV chelation, even prior to DMSA use. After the first couple weeks I was going into the clinic complaining of feeling worse after a couple weeks of actually feeling better. But the staff there were adamant about "'everyone goes through this, you always get worse before you get better with chelation... major symptoms will reappear at first as heavy metals are pulled out.."

And I really like the staff at the clinic and I could see from the people around me there, other patients, that it was effective. So I hung in there and kept going... it took a few more weeks of heavy duty IV chelation, during which time the DMSA oral was added for home use (helped immensely), and I began to see real noticable progress.

By now, I don't feel the necessity to see the doctor as often and thus have dropped IV chelation for the time being (though I will probably go in for some more in the future). I use just a tad of DMSA a few times a week in the evening before bed, I eat a bit of chlorella for maintenance, use lots of C and maintenance on other supplements. I make a cilantro pesto almost daily (resting a bit currently from that though) which I feel is also very very effective for chelation. For precaution, with my cilantro pesto, I'll add in some DMSA a few hours later (those are the evenings I use DMSA now) if I really feel an usually strong mercury rush or the very noticable cold metal sensation of it being drawn out of bone/muscle.

I'd say hang in there, keep going, pass the hump. ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is very effective with DMSA. I read somewhere that B and E vitamins are good to use with DMSA too, and I lately add ginkgo now and then also. I also eat a lot of raw organic garlic, in salads or on burgers, whatever. The garlic is suppose to very good at neutralizing the toxicity of the mercury, appears to be true. Other things like iodine are also suppose to help there (kelp supplements provide iodine and help protect your thyroid).

Very rarely are my hands numb anymore. Maybe once every couple weeks I'll wake in the morning with the numb tingly hand/arm thing.

I also experienced leg symptoms, strange soreness behind the knees especially. That is pretty much gone, does reappear a bit. My toes however are very affected, I think there is a lot of heavy metal settled in my very end extremities, toes, fingers, and my toe symptoms especially reappear every couple weeks for a day or so, which will actually cause me to limp. like major arthritis in the toes, hurts major. Then suddenly it will be gone, very weird. i have had that for about 3-4 years. When I was very very toxic this past winter it would not go away at all, I limped for weeks, could barely walk for a time. Chelation got rid of the worst of it but I think it will be some time before it's gone for good.

It might be wise to limit your use of hot spicy foods during chelation. I love jalepenos too but it has the same effect on me. I hope within a month I am that much more chelated because I love fresh salsa and have all the fixings growing in the garden.. habeneros.. tomatotillos... etc and of course cilantro!

My progress over 5-6 months with chelation has been awesome. The DMSA is very effective but not sure I would stay on it forever. The first time I tried adding ALA into the mix my right pinky went completely numb for about 30 hours. Works great today though, no issues with my hands for the most part at all anymore. My elbows and knees intially were extremely sensitive too, also gone. My butt hurt. My doctor said mercury often will target nerve endings.

You know what? It occurred to me this morning that the hand-lower limb extremity thing with mercury is being helped a lot by my use of cilantro. At least for me, I have been eating quite a bit of it. Just the other day for instance, I could feel a very strong sensation of mercury/whatever else is in there being released from the muscle along the outer side of my left hand, just below the pinky. It feels like a very cold drippy sensation, like cold water dripping on your skin. Whether or not that current movement out of my tissues is affected by my prior use of the EDTA/DMPS I am not sure, I do know I felt those sensations for the first time 3-4 months ago after my 3rd DMPS push. But I haven't had a DMPS push in several weeks now, and I started getting those same exact sensations now after about 10 days of really going at it with the cilantro pesto, during which time my DMSA use was minimal. It was because of those sensations though that I immediately reached for my DMSA to help make sure whatever was coming out got bound up and flushed out.

I typically get the cold drippy sensations in my legs, not my hands, and in my head. I was surprised to feel it so strongly in my hand the other day. And I am sure it is indicative of heavy metal being drawn out, not inward, because ot was after I started getting those sensations that my head started feeling whole lots better about 2-3 months ago too. Also, the skin around my fingernails was all ripped up for a long time from the mercury I guess (I've read that that is indicative of mercury poisoning in children especially) but it is almost back to normal, not from DMSA or IV chelation directly, which helped it a bit, but apparently from my heavy duty cilantro (pluis a little bit of DMSA) use of the past few weeks. So that's promising I think.

Hi SoSick, My butt also hurts from sitting too much. It is either due to lack of cushion or sensative nerves. I gut the jalepenos before steaming them with other veggies. The didn't taste hot yet it felt as if someone applied icy/hot cream inside my forearms. I have almost completed with my 4th round of DMSA for 3 days, every 3 hrs, totaling 600mg. This time around there was no jaw numbness, dizziness or icy/hot sensation. Instead I felt a different kind of numbness in one arm and it has a bunch of tiny red dots. I tried cilantro before and it made me dizzy. I decided to stop cilantro until completing more round of DMSA and DMSA+ALA.

I couldn't eat cilantro before doing a lot of chelation with synthetics either.

I started slowly, by eating just a teaspoon or tablespoon with the oral DMSA formula I have because I noticed that it kept headaches away, the DMSA alone didn't do that for me. Only after about 3-4 months of chelation with the synthetics (I had bunches, EDTA w/DMPS, and oral DMSA w/EDTA, I was quite sick originally) am I able to eat cilantro in large quantities. Large quantities is the key i think, about 1/2 cup fresh chopped or more daily, and not only are my headaches gone (except today I finally succumbed to headache, I have been out of cilantro for about 10 days, am picking at the edges of my plants, i really should just buy some, will do that tomorrow) but my head is real clear, no fogginess at all. Even the hot spot head sensations seem to be gone for the most part. The first time I did a whole bunch of it I paid, like most others I can tell, with a day or two of very uncomfortable mercury sensations. But I noticed after that, I felt a lot better so i kept on with it, and continue to do so, I like it a lot by now. Eat a lot of garlic with the cilantro, something about the combination of the two is very good. I try to buy organic.

I don't sit all that much that my butt would hurt from sitting. I think actually it has more to do with mercury being dumped in the gut after dental exposure or even chelating. And then it spreads from there into surrounding muscles, which obviously your butt provides a lot of it in close proximity. I know I went in for my first colonic because my hip joints were really starting to bother me too (I have never had any problem with my hips), and the very first colonic resolved that mess within 3 days. I still get the achy butt sensations, they come and go, but my lower back feels a lot stronger after everything, colon cleansing and chelating combined.

The DMSA is good stuff. Until I get all of my amalgams out though it seems only the cilantro reliably keeps me on a steady keel. I work with my hands and itps really important that they not be numb or my head fogged up. That is a lot of DMSA you are doing, I had a lot of IV chelation in the beginning. Just a guess, but a somewhat educated experienced one, but if your hands/arms are still getting numb in 2-3 weeks try adding the cilantro in slowly like I did at first then move into more cilantro over a period of a couple weeks until you feel real clear.

I wouldn't worry about the icy sensations, I am real sure that is mercury on it's way out. The hot sensations do worry me though. Either way I take some DMSA when i feel a lot of of either.

Getting better slow but sure. I worry a little bit about my kidneys also, the mercury dumping there day after day. I am not sure really but I think the cilantro/garlic is a bit easier on them than the synthetics.

Years and years ago my mom actually went in and had her wrist bone scraped for carpal tunnel syndrome. I have had it pretty bad in the past, can hurt quite a bit but even before I knew anything about mercury posioning I started using ginkgo biloba for that (15 years ago) and it seemed to help quite a bit also. I sometimes add in some ginkgo in conjunction when I do a heavy duty cilantro with DMSA these days.

I had something like this through out my pregnancy.I read that many women also experience this during pregnancy but I never investigated it any further...
It was a strange experience though.I don't remember much about it only that my hands and wrists went numb sometimes for a while. And the first time it happened I was freaked out.
