Well, once I got what I thought were compatible materials ready to get put in my teeth, someone suggested I do the cheek andgum test. Since I've tried this, I'm now reacting to every material like I"ve never known before. No sooner is the stuff in my mouth, than I'm having reactions. I will almost immediately get a metallic taste in my mouth (whether it's composites or porcelain or bonding material), then nausea, then I feel weird and spaced out and then the entire day is ruined, even when I take the stuff out.

I've not had this with anything already in my mouth, yet because I have had such poor health since they were done, this is why I've been trying to get some of my composites redone with ones that showed up ok on the serum compatibility test.

But each material I do the cheek and gum test with is causing me to have almost immediate reactions that ruin the rest of my day. now I have no answers and I can do nothing anymore.

I now do not have any confidence in having any work done to my mouth, I guess I should give up and stay as I am, because the cheek and gum test causes me to have reactions to any material I put in there.

So that's the end of my journey basically. The money I spent on the serum test has been for nothing, since the cheek and gum test is totally contradicting it with each material I use.

I just feel totally distraught.

Hang in there Bex! Your findings show us all that compatability test is not perfect and that no dental material is immune from drawbacks. Maybe in the future they'll have something better. For now, I guess you can just continue with the diet and look into cavitations. Treating those things can amount to getting much better. I myself have over 10 cavities to fill, but I am at the point where I would rather leave them and treat then naturally, namily good raw diet.

Bex,

For now I have stopped looking for a replacement dental material as I have found the same issues. Instead I have focused on my diet and taking good supplements. My teeth have been doing very well considering. The strange thing is now I do not have any pain under the temp crowns what so ever and the actual tooth is getting stronger and larger. I did try the raw meat and that was not for me. But I have been eating a very high raw diet with cooked meats.

With that said, I been following the whole teeth regeneration concept. Looks like something is going to happen in 2007 that might allow people to regenerate their teeth. Only time will tell but apparently this is going to happen within a year or 2. I figured I am going to wait to see what happens. Either my teeth will heal themselves or science might do it for me.

HI, thanks you guys for the support. I am already pretty much following this diet, but have slipped up here and there. Problem is, I have a few issues going on at the sametime that is not allowing me to respond/heal and I am simply not getting better.

Trust me, if science figures out how to do this and it gets made accessible to the public, the cost will be astronomical, as they cannot seem to help the sick without charging them to the extreme.

I may have no choice but to wait and see, but to do this, means the materials already in my teeth are apparently contributing to my illness and may be why I can't get well, or it's the gum disease or the cavitations.

one dentist even suggested that the bad materials in my teeth could be causing bad bacteria in the gums. There is sadly no one answer. Also there are too many contradictions to be able to get help and to pinpoint what to do.

I am on this diet, doing what I can, not sure why things are not improving at the moment, so I am very concerned. I have slipped off the diet a few times, but things should not be as bad as they are, and that's what I cannot figure out....

I'll keep you posted though and best wishes on your health also! The cheek and gum test has just blown everything up out of the water. If it's really valid, then so far, I tolerate no materials. That is scary.

What supplements are you taking phxcoop?

1. mezotrace mineral
2. cod liver oil
3. pro-biotics
4. vit - c
5. ALA
6. Chromium

I eat one raw organic omega 3 egg a day along with a lot of raw veg and raw fresh juiced veg.

Bex are you eating the raw meats? I did try but it is just something I can not stomach yet. But with some cooked meats I am doing ok.

Also, I am using hemp protein powder a lot as this is organic and mostly in an unprocessed raw state. I also eat organic protein bars that are 90% raw.

Hi phyxcoop, thanks for letting me know. I have not tried eating raw meat. I even feel quite sick if I try eating it when it's not cooked properly. I don't think I'm brave enough to try it raw, maybe I will give it a go sometime.

I can't use ALA, it is too risky for me, I've had dreadful symptoms from anything that can too readily mobilise toxins and they go straight into my gut and brain as they always do and I end up incapacitated for many months afterwards. This goes for garlic, and using DMSA wrongly or too high a dose.

Even taking in toxins from anything will cause them to migrate straight into my gut. I end up continually with brain and gut problems and the pain can be excrutiating. One doc reckons this gut thing (which only started in 2004) maybe related to the jawbone infection. Though as I've stated, I cannot get help for it and have tried. And again, none of them can agree of anything, so I'm stuck.

I've heard cod liver oil is very good, I tried my dad's one that he uses, but suspect it may have some mercury contamination. I'm not sure though and may try it again if I improve from what has happened to me recently (cigarettes, my own fault).

THanks for the other stuff, sounds ok to me.

Bex, I dont think any material is 100 % non-toxic- but the best of them are way better than the silver amalgams!

I had porcelain/composite material put in after the dentist drilled out my old metal fillings. I'm sure my body and liver had to work a little to detox the composite stuff I got, but I was also making sure to get the full range of Vitamin C/bioflavonoids daily- and not introducing anymore toxins into my life- so my liver could have the Edge over anything.

I did colon cleanses and parasite cleanses too- to further help my immune system.

Well, ya know what? even though my composite material probably isnt totally non-toxic, my health still improved after getting the metal fillings out. I still chelate, of course-

I read from good sources that Diamonlite is the least toxic of all composite material.

I didnt' go to a holistic dentist-- so I don't even really know the name of the material they used for me.

The cheek and gum test may not be the way to go. Believe me I am trying this too and am reacting to everything I try. I am getting a filling with DiamondLite and will see how well this work, but I have a feeling that if I put a sample in my mouth I will react to it.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if it gives a reaction regardless, because it is not sealed in the tooth, but instead loose in the mouth like a lolly. Whereas, when it is bonded properly in the tooth, sealed with the light they use, perhaps this is different.

I've tried the cheek and gum test again recently and seem "ok", but again, when I first was trying them, no matter what one I tried, i got a reaction and I thought this is ridiculous. All my materials in the past in my teeth never evendid that, even though many are incompatible. Suddenly since the cheek andgum test, no matter what I use, I have this odd reaction, something I've never had.

So I assume the test may actually be bogus and if anything giving a false positive, due to the fact these materials are not supposed to be sitting there in the mouth like that, unsealed/unbonded/uncured. But again, I don't know. In the end, the person has to find something to use!!!

Hi James,
I'm 34 , I am very lucky that I have support from my parents. Not sure what I'd have done without them. As for the rest of my family....hmmmm. They're ok, pleasant, but not sure whether they feel I'm that ill. Usually I put on an act as much as I can and they dont see me when Im at my worst, so they dont really get to see what goes on. I guess they judge on appearances.

. I dont see my friends much now, they've gotten on with their lives, have families. I hear sometimes across email though. THey know I"m ill, but dont mention much about it.

Bex, almost all the friends and family that I was isolated from before have come back since I got my cancer diagnosis. Sad that is what it takes to make people believe you are ill, isn't it?

HI Sandi, yes it is sad that it takes a serious diagnosis to get people's attention and have them think "oh maybe they really are unwell". Often our word just isn't enough. But I guess it's human nature. Perhaps I'd be no better myself if I was ok and someone else had what I had...I don't know. Going through it myself has taught me a lot.
