I am soooo livid <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

A few weeks ago I took my son in for his dental cleaning. Well, unfortunately they found cavities this time around. While I was there they had me fill out paperwork and one of the questions was if he was alergic to mercury or nickel. I put down that he was cause my life has been ruined due to the fact I have a mouth full of mercury.

So we scheduled to have his cavities taken care of the end of the month. I get my reminder phone call this morning for his up and coming appointment on Monday. Then when I was out shopping, I come home to a message on my machine saying that they need a note from a Dr. stating that he was tested for mercury and nickel and that he is in fact alergic to it. I got right on the phone and I was furious. I told them that my life has been ruined because I have a mouth full of mercury and I lost my mom 2 years ago to MS because she also had a mouth full of mercury and you people will NOT put that poison in my sons mouth and I dont need to have him tested. Whether he tests positive or negative is irrelivent as you will not put it in his mouth.

She proceeded to tell me that that is the policy of the insurance company as they want to put the "cheapest" filling in and they wont pay for composite if he can have the amalgam. I told her that he had two done a few years ago and the insurance paid for it and didnt say anything. She told me that the policy changed at the beginning of the year to these new rules. She was getting very cocky and condensending because of my anger about mercury. I am sick and tired of these stupid people!!! I ended up hanging up on her I was just shaking with anger. Just because my son has MA, we are scum and deserve to get what is the cheapest ? So now we all know that all the poor people in this country have no choice but to get poisoned if they have cavities. Well guess what corrupt FDA, government, ADA etc. - your not touching my son!

And if you are wondering why I am so angry lady- it is just one of the MANY symptoms of my mercury poisoning!

too right my daughter needs braces and they are putting nothing in her mouth which may cause problems they are all a bunch of idiots. One dentist admitted to my sister that he wouldnt dream of putting an amalgam filling in his own sons mouth. But the rest of us dont count what do they care about us and although this illness does cause anger like you say, I think we all have aright to be livid anyway for what theyve done to us and gotten away with.

You're so right anon, and I don't blame you a bit for being angry. Reading your post makes me furious as well. To install a known neurotoxin in a human is legalized crime, but that is the world we are living in.

I would also say that I personally don't believe that current standard methods for determining if a tooth needs a filling is valid at all. They stick a stainless steel poker in the enamel and if it seems a little soft, the proceed to drill away a huge amount of perfectly good enamel and install a known neurotoxin. This is the kind of stuff you read about in the Bible:

http://herballure.com/bibledrugs

If I were you, here's what I would do. I would collect articles from the web, one-by-one and mail them to the dental office. Address the envelope in such a way as to cause some office personnel to open the envelope. Make sure the article is referenced and contains solid, medical information, not opinions. Do this over a period of time and see if some of the people in the office don't start to realize that they're working in a highly-toxic environment. Perhaps you can include articles that talk about dental assistants having the highest rate of miscarriage among all professions.

In doing this, you will probably save some people from this horrific trouble because over time, they will have to concede to the truth. Don't wait for the mainstream media to do it for you. They are just as corrupt as the ADA and FDA.

In fact, if anyone on this forum is interested, I would willing to participate in a letter-writing campaign to dentists across the country with this kind of information. I have the capability to print black-and-white documents at a low cost so I will be willing to do the printing and I will be willing to compile some of the information for the document. We need others who will be willing to stuff the envelops and others to maintain the database of what has been sent to whom.

This would be a lot of fun and very therapeutic. If you're interested, let me know: Start a thread on this forum about it and let's get going. Don't ever underestimate the power you have when armed with the truth.

And by the way, you may want to consider whether you want your son's so-called "cavity" filled or not. In my personal opinion, when it comes to cavities, if it does not hurt, it's probably not broken.

You have every right to be angry! I would be too, and am from your post. There is no way EVER I would let a dentist put mercury in my kid's mouth (if I had one). It makes me sick what they are doing to people. So many dentists here are leaving the NHS and I am sure amalgam is part of the reason. If you're poor, you get amalgam, if you can pay, you get something better. Amalgams took my later childhood, I am sure of it, because I totally believe they gave me OCD.

That is our society. What a sad truth. I have come to find out this week, that many of my fillings were done wrong, and probably some of them were unneeded (or they didn't need to be as BIG as they are). The dentist that filled my mouth with amalgam was a QUACK as far as I'm concerned. He has taken my life away from me. Somehow, someway, I intend to get it back. It will never make up for what I've lost, though. It's all about money. I was young and naive, and he saw me coming. I was on medical assistance at the time I had them done, and he made money off of the state, by taking my life away. They only pay for composite on your front teeth, everything else is metal. I thought I was doing something good for myself, I did know how your teeth can affect your health and I thought by getting them done, I was improving myself.

When you turn 21 here, you automatically lose your dental assistance, and I had all of these done in the two weeks before my 21st birthday. It was when they were all finished, that I started getting VERY sick. I was in terrible pain, my whole mouth was swollen, I couldn't eat, sleep or breathe. I cried constantly with some of the worst pain, swelling and infection I have ever had in my life. By then, I was no longer covered. I called the dentist's office and he told me to take some Tylenol. I told him that I took a bottle of 100 in a week, just so I could function. (I was taking 8 at a time, just so I could eat a meal, before the pain came back.) He told me to give it some time, and hung up on me. He knew I no longer had coverage, so he was done with me. I ended up going to another dentist (and BTW I was BROKE and had to tell them at the end of my appointment, that I was sorry and I had no money, so I couldn't pay them at the time of service. They were very pissed, but there was nothing else I could do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ) and he told me that I had a terrible "reaction" to the metal fillings, and he thought that I was allergic to them. I of course, was never told they contained mercury, and was just led to assume that it was because I was allergic to metal, period, because I've always had problems with jewelry. He gave me an antibiotic script and told me if that didn't work, that they would have to ALL be taken out and refilled with "medicated" fillings, whatever that meant. That really scared me, because I had no money, no insurance and just had $10,000 worth of dental work done. The antibiotic helped, but I have never been the same since. The old man is probably dead by now, or I would go knock his head off.

By all rights you SHOULD be able to pay the difference out of your pocket for composite or something else. That is what I've always heard, but I don't know. My 13 yr old daughter has a couple of metal fillings, and now that she knows what they are, she wants hers out. I told her that mom has got to get fixed first, because I can't do everything that I need to do for everyone, until I am functional, so she kinda understands. I feel so bad. I guess at the time, I kinda thought that they would CONSULT me in the waiting room before filling her teeth, but they went ahead and filled them. I also THOUGHT that they were composite, and she didn't tell me until not too long ago, that a couple of them were actually metal. My oldest daughter hasn't been to a dentist since she was small. She has always had good teeth, but she has one bothering her. There are no mercury-free dentists that are not a long drive from me, but I guess I will have to find a way to do it. I have been putting her dental needs off too long, because I've been afraid they would want to put amalgam in her mouth, too.

I hope you are able to find another dentist!!!! I would NEVER go back there.

Russ, I DO want to do what you're talking about. There are PLENTY of dentists around here that I am familiar with, and they need a good dose of reality about amalgam!!!! I would LOVE to stuff envelopes and mail letters to them! I just went to the biological dentist this week and picked up some anti-amalgam papers in the office that said to "copy and distribute". I intend on making as many copies as possible and post them on bulletin boards, and leave them anywhere that I can.

Grrrrr. That cocky and condescending lady will probably and unfortunately for her, get the short end of the stick one day. I wonder how much she will be laughing to herself one day when she discovers that all her bizarre symptoms can be attributed to mercury toxicity.

Russ, if you could organise some kind of template letter that we could send to out to the dentists I would be more than happy to do some mass mailouts here in Australia. I have a few good 'peer reviewed' journal articles but if you could list a few others that would be handy too. Thankyou.

I'm glad to see the fire in your hearts!

I have an idea. Why don't I try posting something I wrote up for our last business convention and we'll all work together to add to it and fully reference it? This will take the work-load off of any one of us and will allow us to write about just the areas we feel comfortable about. It'll be a group effort.

There is a new online system by Googe called Google Documents that allows collaboration between people for writing documents. It should work perfectly for this.

I'll post the short article I wrote up for my recent NSP convention and we can build on that. If you have any ideas, let me know. You can also insert comments into the document in red that we'll get rid of before we print it.

You just have to get a google account, which is easy and free and then you just go to this url:

Our Google Document

If someone if online editing the document at the same time you are, it automatically changes in your window so you can work together... really cool.

Let's give it a try.

When the document is done and we're all finished with it, I'll print a bunch of copies and mail it to whoever wants copies and we'll send them out and see what happens.

We could even keep track of who we send to so we don't send them to the same office twice and also so others can see the work we are doing and they may want to jump on board as well.

I would love to see this go to every dental office in the U.S., U.K., and Australia, and anywhere else someone wants to help.

Let me know what you think.

Russ

By the way... I'm still learning this system myself and it may require me to put your email address into a box to allow you to view or edit the document. If you have trouble seeing it (as I suspect you will until I put your email in the box they provide), just let me know and send me a message with your email address. This applies to anyone who is interested in either editing or who wants to watch our work and just view the document. All are welcome to participate and/or watch.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and support on this.

Yes Russ, I questioned myself as to the method used for determining if one has a cavity or not. My one son who is 14, he is the one I took in. Now mind you, he has never had a cavity up until a couple of years ago and he was found to have two between his teeth because he wasn't flossing.

Now, with this last visit, he all of a sudden ends up with 6 cavities! I was a bit shocked to say the least. My other son who is 9 hasn't had any.

They were a bit miffed with me also as I told them I didn't feel that x-rays were necessary as he just had them a few years ago. It was explained to me that he might even have MORE cavities if I would "allow" them to take the "necessary" x-rays to determine if there is any more cavities that they cant see with out having the x-rays taken. I don't believe in exposing him to all that radiation.

But what gets me every time when I do take my boys in for their cleaning is when I tell them absolutely no fluoride treatment. Oh my gosh - the look on their faces is priceless! It is as if I am abusing my child. They look at me as if I am doing this huge disservice to my kid.

I am all for giving these people a wake up call and a reality check. It is so frustrating because the public is so incredibly brain washed and if they would just step outside the box and get informed - maybe, by the good grace of God, the truth will be known.

So Russ, what advise can you give me on my sons supposedly 6 cavities that were found with their stainless steel poker? Do I just let it go until it becomes a pain issue with him or should I find another dentist - which I don't know what that will get me, probably the same outcome because of the medical assistance - there aren't too many at all that even accept it because they don't pay them anywhere near what they normally fetch.

Thank you, Teri

Teri,

If I was in your shoes, I would take a thorough look at the teeth myself and see if there is any obvious problem. If not, I would not have the fillings placed. That's what I would do.

Remember, there is no perfect filling material. Any material that I've ever read about has some type of toxicity associated with it and to have perfectly good enamel removed to have something toxic put it (without really good cause) goes against common sense.

I know I'm pretty wordy sometimes but let me tell you about how I feel about accountability, because this relates to what we're really talking about here.

For example, I just (last week) had my old 1990 Blazer "repaired". The mechanic fixed the 4-wheel drive because when it snows, I cannot get to my house without it. When I got it back, the 4-wheel drive was not working correctly at all, yet, he tried to tell me it was. That was $200.

The next day, I brought it to another mechanic. $300 later, they had "repaired" it but it still was not working right. I did some internet research on the 4-wheel drive system and suggested to him what the problem might be. He said they already looked at that and it was fine. To make a really long story short...

I finally got fed up and took Saturday off and determined to fix it myself. Here's what I found...

The part I was told by the first mechanic had been replaced was not replaced, and in fact, could not even had been touched.

The problem that I was told was checked by the second mechanic (after I suggested that it might actually be the source of the problem) actually was the problem. So, I ended up fixing the problem myself with about $10 in parts.

Now, here's my history with this truck. It has over 350,000 miles on it. The first major problem I had was that the transmission stopped working. This turned out to be because the previous mechanic who had just done diagnostic work on it "forgot" to tighten up bolts in the transmission and all the transmission fluid leaked out totaling the transmission. (About $1200 to repair)

Then, I had a gasket go bad on the engine (a small job really) and had it replaced. This involved taking out a few head bolts. The mechanic apparently didn't know that you're supposed to seal the head bolts with a sealant before putting them back in (on this particular type of engine, which is not uncommon) and water leaked into the oil totaling the engine. (About $2200 to repair).

The bottom line is, the vast majority of money I have put into this truck was caused by mechanics.

Why?

Accountability, or lack thereof.

I believe it's no different with doctors, dentists, and many other professions as well. They are rarely made accountable and soon become arrogant about what they can get away with. When you find a professional that really cares about what he/she is doing, don't let them go.

In short, what separates the good from the bad is what they do when nobody's looking.

Here is a link to International Society for Fluoride Research There are numerous excellent articles here. Many scientifically define the known problems with fluoride.

Consider printing some of the articles out and mailing/handing them to your dentist or better yet, personnel that work in his/her office. The harmful effects of fluoride are as well documented as the harmful effects of mercury.

Here are just a few fine examples to ponder:

http://www.fluoride-journal.com/02-35-1/351-12.pdf

http://www.fluoride-journal.com/02-35-1/351-38.pdf

http://www.fluoride-journal.com/02-35-1/351-28.pdf

When reading these, remember that when they say "no" bad effects were noticed at low levels, that is usually for very short periods of time as compared to the amount of time children and adults are exposed in the real world.

Also be warned that they often mention animal studies.

Hi Russ,

I would love to be a part of mailing letters to every dentist about how bad mercury and other toxic dental materials are! In fact I had the same idea for a long time but thought it wasen't allowed by the corrupt law to send letters about exposing the truth! Your idea of informing them all may be an answer to my prayers and a reason to live!!!

Please read my post on this mercury section of the forum. Click to ROOT CANAL OR EXTRACTION? ALEX1, dated 12/7/06. Then scroll down to my post that says I FEEL LIKE IV'E BEEN ABUSED TO DEATH BY DENTISTS. You will find that I almost reached the end of my rope. But thanks to you, my fiance', and all the supportive people on this forum, I have a reason to keep going !!! It so wonderful to do networking with caring, knowledgable, and trustworthy people like you along with all the other wonderful people on this forum to fight back!

I pray that I die if I'm too sick to help others, but if the Lord makes me stronger and heathier to be able to help others, I pray that I live not only to mail these letters to dentists but also to finally complete my book about toxic dental materials, nerve damage, negligence, and corruption!!!

Until the book is completed, is there a way to put all my posts together on one section of your web site so I could just tell people to click here and there to find a particular answer to their questions? I could help alot more people alot faster then trying to type the same information again and again on different sections of the forum. This way I can just give links to as many people as I can! Would the Wikis be the place for all my posts? Would the Amalgam stories be a better place to put all my posts in one section?

Thank you, Russ!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Jigsaw Health has a foundation that will pay to have amalgams removed if one doesn't have the money to do so on their own. It would certainly be a good idea to contact them!

I've been thinking this over and I believe it would be most effective to send the IAOMT rebuttal to the recent mercury "studies" (if you want to be kind and call them that) that properly points out all of the gross errors in the mercury study. (This is the study that came out a few months ago that says mercury is harmless in the mouth). This study is so critically flawed, that it's obvious that those conducting the study intended to direct the outcome by the very design of the study, which is ridiculous, to say the least.

I'll help by coordinating the address list and database online so that we can accurately track all of the dental offices it's been sent to. I will have to first get permission to do this. I will contact IAOMT and get the ball rolling if I can get at least 5 people to commit to participate.

How's that sound.

Have a go & getting them to say the same via Email by Emailing The Boss (get their Name First)
Ask if what the 1st person said was true (Also why hadnt you been informed in writing of the Insurance change)
Dont say this to them but check out if you can sue the Insurance company for poisoning your son.
Good luck
Judith.
