Hi. I have been taking EDTA for about 6 weeks and yesturday added in DMSA for the first time. I take them both now every friday and monday every other week. I was really feeling great when I first started. Now I seem to get really drained out on the days that I take the chelation medications. I get achy, very fatigued, and my eyes burn and also feel tired. I also feel very dehydrated and end up getting brain fog at the end of the day at work. I was wondering what other people are feeling on the days that they take the chelation medication and if you found anything to help. One time a week in the infra red sauna has helped. Thanks, chgirl

hey Chi, nice to see you on board!!! Maybe try posting this under the Amalgams section under HOT TOPICS, I think it is a busier section...I don't think many people read this section as much. I do think chelation is very draining, are you taking minerals on the offday to replace the ones that are removed from the chelating agents?

DMSA is more able to mobilize mercury than EDTA so you might be feeling the effects of this. Mobilized mercury can lower blood sugar, lower the production of ATP (the "energy" source for all cells), and lower thyroid hormone T-3 which can make you feel the same way.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Russ. I think I will take a break from it until after the holidays. I will just do the infraRed Sauna 1 time a week until January. chigirl

I have been taking IV chelation 2x/week for a total of 14 so far and I can relate to fatigue, achy, brain fog, etc. However, on number 14 I felt better. That was on Thursday and today Sunday I still feel better -- more energy than what I have had in years! I have started doing exercises - before I had no energy and no desire to do them. I have been doing 1 3/4 hrs of exercises every day. Yeah! I just hope this continues.
In talking with others who are chelating they felt better at 7 or 10 or whatever treatments. Sooo many have positive symptoms. Sorry to ramble.

Congratulations. I'm truly thrilled to see people begin to get better from this horrible condition. Please keep us posted.
