Yes, I do this too. When I wake up I just can't "get it together". Everything feels all fumbled, and I am dumbfounded, and I don't even know what I am supposed to get done for the day.
I also do this when I can't find something, or am late for an appointment and I get all upset, anxious and sweat. I start feeling light headed and like my thoughts are all screwed up. I call this "feeling loopy". Oh and also when I get up too quick, like stand up from a sitting position and get kind of dizzy, I start feeling like this too.

I really, really hope that I get through this, without permanant brain damage. The thought of that really scares me. I am hoping we will all get through this eventually, without too much of a lifelong impact. It's enough just losing so much of your life and quality of life while you are poisoned, I would hate to think of lifelong brain damage too.

My brain has been scrambled since I got fillings as a child. It was very bad those years, I had very little control over my thoughts, it made me feel suicidal. It is nothing like it was back then (which makes me think that recovery is possible) but I do have problems - my brain involuntarily counts steps, says numbers, mental repetitions, repeats words, causes blink compulsions and sometimes tic like symtoms, and just like you say a feeling of a wiring problem. I totally believe it's the mercury as I didn't have it before fillings. It comes and goes and some days is almost gone. I live in hope that it will go, but on the other hand I try not to build up expectation. I have no idea what damage has been done to my brain from 20 years of exposure since the age of about 10. But all cells in the body are replaced every 7 years, so I do think there is hope of improvement eventually.

This problem you are talking about (Tracy) is actually more common than most people think. Mercury can fire areas of the brain that cause repetitive throughts, or what I call "looping"—that is—having repeating thoughts or even songs or phrases go through your head over and over.
When the mercury exposure is gone, this can dissipate over time but it sure is difficult to live with. I lived with it most of my life but it went away completely after my amalgams were removed. This "quieting of the mind" is a huge part of what allows me to sleep much better now (post amalgam).

Yep I get this all the time too. Loud music can help to a point. But sometimes i just want silence and this 'white noise' crap keeps playing. Also, i get these spiralling 'scenarios' being constructed in my mind - usually worst-case - just so totally bizarre / unlikely / impossible imagined situations. Its hard work trying to stop them

Repetitive thinking is probably about the first symptom that I had after my first shot of rhogam (vaccine containing mercuring). It has only been in the last six months or so that I have made the connection.
Prior to that shot of rhogam (in my early twenties, I am now mid thirties) when I used to drive my car etc I always used to listen to music as I was driving and not particularly thinking about anything in particular. A week or so after that shot I couldn't cope with listening to music anymore. It is not that I disliked it but more so because I became obsessed with my own thoughts. I would think about the same thing over and over and over. It would be something really stupid like a phrase or what I had to do the next day etc.
After thinking about it again and again I would think why am I doing this? Then a few minutes later I would start thinking about the same thing again and again all over again. AAAAhhhhh.
I must admit that I have become a lot better at handling this situation. I seem to be able to stop myself after some time of repetitive thinking. I guess just knowing finally what the issue is, MERCURY!!! allows me to make some better judgements.
On the upside though!!! If mercury is responsible for repetitive thinking it has helped me enormously with learning foreign languages. I guess that I have always had a flair for learning languages and mimicking tones and sounds. When I am learning a new language withoout even consciously thinking I repeat the foreign words over and over in my head and have an uncanny nack therefore for memorising these words and phrases.
Even, though I may remember all these languages I don't remember putting the leftover dinner in the pantry instead of the refrigerator!!!

A really scary symptoms that I used to have when the amalgams were still in is that I would occasionally forget if red meant "stop" or "go" at stoplights. I've met others with amalgams that have this exact same symptom.

OMG Russ, you just reminded me that I have had that symptom, too. I have felt like an idiot, and forgot all about that. It is terribly dangerous, and I have flown right through a couple of lights that way, and then realized what I've done. I have also confused left and right MANY, MANY times, and have been SO embarrassed. I literally have to stop and think for a second, "Ok, I write with this hand, so this is right". People have looked at me so crazy, like a GROWN WOMAN has to hesitate when asked to extend her right arm, or hesitate to turn left when someone says to go left, but I have never ever thought of that being a symptom. I have confused the turn signal with the windshield wiper switch on my car, because they look just alike and are on opposite sides of the steering wheel. I also have forgotten when I shift, whether I should go up or down to park or drive. It is all nuts, but you really brought this to light for me right now. It almost makes me feel better, putting that with the mercury. This started a long time ago, so long I never would've connected these. I just thought something was wrong with me.
I remember the same year that I had all of these amalgams put in, I was driving my old car down the street one night, and went to turn on the turn signal, and got confused and instead moved the SHIFTER which was on the column on the opposite side. I ended up swiftly landing it in reverse, while my car was going forward at about 35 MPH, and it jolted my car, I almost wrecked it, and it died right there and I thought I was stranded. I realized what I had done and was terrified, and didn't know why on earth I would do something so stupid. Thankfully my car started and still worked, but I don't think it was ever the same after that, and I have never lived it down. That happened about 14 years ago. I also find myself wondering sometimes, especially when there are no other cars on the road, if I am actually going down the correct lane, or should I be on the opposite side?
I also have quite a few OCD symptoms, too.
