My experience has been, when I used to sweat I was healthier. But when I had night sweats, I was a very ill person. So it seemed sweating normally was good during the day, but night sweats appeared to coincide with me being very very ill. So it's hard for me to describe. It was not a normal sweating, it was clammy and horrible and would soak the bed to the point I had to get up and change my night wear, plus put a towel down.
I know that candida yeast can cause night sweats also, and/or mercury poisoning and infections etc. Some of that can be controlled with an anti yeast regime. Depending on how ill a person is and whether they need to go further and use some kind of antifungal agent (but this should be cautioned due to too much yeast possibly being killed off at once, releasing massive amounts of it's toxins and even metals that can be within the yeast also). This can in some cases cause ACUTE mercury or other metal toxicity, due to it releasing straight into the blood stream alongside the massive amounts of yeast toxins also. So controlling yeast/infections with diet alone is the best thing, or at least a good start before adding any antifungal onboard.
Many of us mercury poisoned people, can be suffering with infections of some kind. And at times, it can be worse or overtake the mercury issue and hold the immune system at a continual low level, keeping a person chronically ill. E.g. jawbone infection, gum disease, root canal bacteria, systemic viral infections etc. mercury can set a person up to get this in the first place, so mercury may have triggered this to occur by weakening and poisoning the immune system, but once you have it, it can become the much bigger issue, because it can actually prevent healing/detoxing or just generally coping. So it's a bad cyclic situation.
This is my personal experience anyway.
