Night symptoms

I have been detoxifying for more than a year now. Some of my symptoms have eased, such as gum bleeding, red spots in my face and chest, chest pain, brain fog also decreased.

On the other hand I have terrible nights. At the moment I fall asleep my symptoms increase and I wake up again and again with chest pain, breathing difficulties and pressure in my head.

It also makes difference if I lay on my back, on my side or on my stomach. It is only bearable laying on my back. Last night I laid on my stomach and I woke up feeling so bad that I thought I would die. I almost lost consciousness and sweated like I would have been Fred Aster in the rain.

Has anybody similar symptoms, has anybody an idea about the cause or a solution to that problem?

Hello Steve, just wanted to reply to you to say yes I have had the chest pains you are talking about.

I had five fillings removed in March/April this year (without any precautions) stupid I now realise.

Anyway, what prompted me to do this was that I broke a filling over Christmas and then for three months had a constant tingling in my head, like pins and needles without the numbness if you know what I mean, I then realised that it was the broken filling and decided to get my other fillings removed.

Well after a month or two the tingling subsided but then I got major chest pains and had trouble breathing which was very scary to say the least. I was at my doctor a few times she sent me to get a camera down my throat ( not nice) and then I had an ECG - all came back normal - so I'm pretty positive this was the result of being exposed to a massive amount of mercury vapour. This gradually went away, BUT, then almost six months later back everything came, first the tingling head, then the breathlessness, then the chest pains. As you say, when I was lying in my bed I couldn't sleep on my side cos I was in so much pain, and I had to lie on my back, it was a nightmare, I was utterly convinced I was having or about to have a heart attack. It often felt like I was going to pass out. This went on for a few weeks I went to my doctor twice about the chest pains (although I must add I never mentioned the mercury thing - I just know they would think I'm utterly mad) she gave me yet another ECG (I think this was more for my piece of mind) and it too was fine.

Sooooo I think the chest pains yet again were down to the mercury, I have read a lot about people having a recurrance of symtoms six months after removal of their fillings.

I still have a couple of mercury fillings under two crowns but there is nooooo way I'm touching them at the moment.

I have been taking modifilan just now, you can take it with fillings still in. It contains various seaweeds like algin etc. Which is good for binding mercury, also I am eating lots of apples and taking supplements with pectin in it.

This seems to be helping at the moment, but touch wood, as I didn't expect these symptoms to return before - but they did - so I'm wary to say that they won't return again. But so far so good.

Don't know if this has helped at all but just wanted to tell you I have had the exact same and it is very frightening. Hope you feel better soon.

I had those awful pains and they come back sometimes now if I eat sugar or if I eat too many foods that feed yeast....or if I am exposed to alot of cigarette smoke.

hope this sheds some light.

I still have amalgams, so I haven't started a detox, but I have had these symptoms quite often. I sweat PROFUSELY most of the time. I break a sweat walking across the room, and I get terrible night sweats. I can only lay on my sides, because I feel like both of my both of my hip bones are out of joint for some reason (and have for a few years), and if I lay in a certain position on my side, it's great. I have been prone to a terrible acid refulx if I sleep on my back, and there have been several times I have awoke up on my back.
There are many times that I have laid in bed at night, and felt like I couldn't breathe. It is almost similar to my husband's asthma symptoms, but I hadn't experienced them until the last couple of years. It scares me. I am very concious of my breathing when I do this, and feel like I can't get a deep breath.

I also have TERRIBLE pains under my bottom ribs. Especially favoring the left side. I don't know what this is, as I've considered it could've been my liver, but that is supposed to be on the right side. My spleen maybe? It is under my bottom 2 ribs or so, on the left. It hurts like a broken rib or someone punched me there. It is not all the time, it comes and goes. Scary stuff.

I have a lump there too, I wonder what it is? And I have had hip pain since the birth of my first son....he was over 11 pounds and I blamed it on that...now I know it is because the mercury makes the muscle and joint tissue weak so that it can't support the joints...if only people knew all this stuff, drs would be broke!!! but it is almost gone now...no more chiropractor or physical therapy....just the odd massage for maintenance and good for detoxing too!!!

My sweating has stopped, I used to have to wake up and change my pyjamas in the middle of the night and in the daytime I was just freezing. All that has normalized and my energy is better too. You have alot to look forward to...BUT you have to stick to a good candida diet.....that is the key to success!!!

Best luck to you both.

Hi, Mummy24, I completely know what you are talking about re trouble breathing, that was one of my most scary symptoms!!! Just like you said I felt that I couldn't get a deep enough breath, or worse felt like I couldn't breath at all. I kept thinking I was going to pass out all the time, this symptom has came and went a few times over the last six months. If you read the thread "Order of Symptoms" I am talking about that and I have listed a website that helped me a lot regarding the trouble breathing. I searched under hyperventilation and found that site, it gives you various tips on what to do and often if you feel like this you feel that you have not enough oxygen in you , when, in fact, you have too much - weird eh? Also the article on the website said that many people who hyperventilated or had trouble breathing were often very low in magnesium, so I make sure I always take that too. Since I have followed these tips I have been much improved regarding the breathing problem.

Think this thread about this is at the bottom of the first page.

Hope this helps some. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />lizbet

When i had amlalgam, i didnt sweat and its not healthy to not sweat.
When i had them removed, i had terrible night sweats, i woke up soaking wet and had to shower and change bed cloths nearly every morning. It was accompanied by other symptoms, eg, fear, so thats maybe why i was sweating.
Andy cutler says that sweaters are healthier than non-sweaters.

I have to disagree with the statement that sweating is healthier than not sweating. Perhaps not sweating at all is not normal, but sweating profusely is a sign that something is wrong. I speak from experience because I have always been sweating a lot, at night especially, and my palms and my feet would sweat so much it would really make me feel unattractive and just generally I would feel sick.

I too had the same night symptoms, especially the chest pains that feel like a heart attack is coming. Nights are still harder for me even after a year and a half of detoxing and I do take sedatives to ease them and fall asleep. Other than that I have switched to a sugar free, yeast free, macrobiotic diet which makes perfect sense. I have also been having acupuncture for 9 months now and ALL of my symptoms are subsiding and some of them went away completely. If they do return they are less intense, and mostly at night. My night sweating is almost completely gone, and what works for me is actually keeping myself warm, so wearing nice warm pyjamas at night and drinking hot fluids throughout the day, as well as warm/hot water. I would encourage all of you to look into a macrobiotic way of life (i do eat meat however) as this has truly done wonders for me. I feel 90% better and continue to see improvement not only in the way I feel but the way I react to things. I am not as snappy as I used to be, fear does not rule over my life...You become a better and healthier person at the same time. It is really great!

My experience has been, when I used to sweat I was healthier. But when I had night sweats, I was a very ill person. So it seemed sweating normally was good during the day, but night sweats appeared to coincide with me being very very ill. So it's hard for me to describe. It was not a normal sweating, it was clammy and horrible and would soak the bed to the point I had to get up and change my night wear, plus put a towel down.

I know that candida yeast can cause night sweats also, and/or mercury poisoning and infections etc. Some of that can be controlled with an anti yeast regime. Depending on how ill a person is and whether they need to go further and use some kind of antifungal agent (but this should be cautioned due to too much yeast possibly being killed off at once, releasing massive amounts of it's toxins and even metals that can be within the yeast also). This can in some cases cause ACUTE mercury or other metal toxicity, due to it releasing straight into the blood stream alongside the massive amounts of yeast toxins also. So controlling yeast/infections with diet alone is the best thing, or at least a good start before adding any antifungal onboard.

Many of us mercury poisoned people, can be suffering with infections of some kind. And at times, it can be worse or overtake the mercury issue and hold the immune system at a continual low level, keeping a person chronically ill. E.g. jawbone infection, gum disease, root canal bacteria, systemic viral infections etc. mercury can set a person up to get this in the first place, so mercury may have triggered this to occur by weakening and poisoning the immune system, but once you have it, it can become the much bigger issue, because it can actually prevent healing/detoxing or just generally coping. So it's a bad cyclic situation.

This is my personal experience anyway.

I had those chest pressure/close to heart attack feelings too and very frequently until I went for a Vega test, were it was found that I had various food intollerances, primarily wheat/gluten (the intollerances were likely a consequnce of mercury poisoning).
Once I stopped eating anything with gluten, those chest pressure feeling vanished within days.
This was all even before I had my amalgans removed, so I would encourage anyone with those chest pressure feeling to get a food intollerance test (regardless if you still have amalgams or not), personally I think the Vega test is very reliable and much quicker and easier than traditional prick/patch tests, if done by an experienced Vega tester.

Has anyone done the food sensitivity tests offered by some of the labs (ie GSDL etc..) and what has your experience been? It seems easier just to pay to have your blood tested than to do a whole elimination diet thing... just wondering if people have found it accurate?

Me too. I get night symptoms as i'm trying to fall asleep, which delay that mission for a long time, andthen once i do fall asleep, I get wrneched back awake because my mouth and throat have filled up with so much saliva, I am drowning, or surges of pains throughtout my body, or various other symptoms including just really weird and new, and awful aches. It's horrifying.

I also get the night sweats really bad.

Does anyone know if it is true that the sheets and pajamas have to be laundered immediately after nightsweats to remove excreted mercury? !

What a thought!

I believe that's what I read on some other post somewhere in this forum.

My first collapse was in April 2004. Fist time I thought I am amalgam poisoned was in august 2005. then I had used chlorella for a year and after that I have used Algin for another year.
And kids, my symptoms have eased significantly. DON’T EVER GIVE UP!!!!!
