Yep and the other thing they don't tell you is that they don't like going against previous doctor's diagnoses.

Meaning - if ONE doctor writes in your notes that you're a madman, the NEXT doctor may think you've got a genuine medical complaint UNTIL they read your notes and decide your a madman too. And so it goes on no matter how many times you change your GP. I was lucky.

The only piece of advice I can give (if I can indeed give advice as I don't pretend to be an expert on this) is to write a detailed letter giving medical FACTUAL information debating and proving your case to your doctor. They're legally not entitled to bin your letter so they have to keep it on record. This means they can't write in their notes that you were a rambling madman when you talked to them about your "fake illness".

DON'T write that you found your information on the internet. It gets dismissed so easily that way. Find your info on the internet by all means - then buy hard copies of medical reports direct from whichever accepted research institute was named as providing the info and any books (like the ones on sale on herballure here) and cite them as being your source of information. Books are classed much higher than internet 'babble' and I got a much better response. In fact I'm having surgery, physiotherapy and seeing a chelation expert this week because of my letter.

In my case as it is now I have one GP at my practise that believes me - the other one is still trying to say I'm mental so I avoid him like he is plauge personified. I can't afford him writing that I wasted an appointment whinging about fake illnesses in my notes in case it reflects on me further. He's a huge danger to me because he doesn't believe mercury poisoning exists. My good GP DOES and I cited actual cases of mercury poisoning throughout the ages as proof it exists and therefore lower level toxicity had to exist too. He was nodding the whole time as he read my letter in front of me.

Okay enough said hope that helps. It worked for me and I hope it does for you. I know I can't advise you really but it worked for me.
