Hello guys, my 3rd post here!

Long story short, I've had serious health, memory/brain fog problems for two years. I treated myself for candida, but now I know it's the mercury behind it. Three weeks ago (october 19th) I had my two first amalgams replaced with composites (out of seven). I live in Poland, and there's no way to find a biological dentist here, so I went to a local dentist who has a well equipped office and described to him my situation. We used a rubber dam, and he had his assistant standing beside me using high-potency suction. The drilling was cooled down with cold water and he put on me those protective glasses of theirs. He didn't have any alternative airway to provide, so I didn't have this, but he put the rubber dam in such a way that it also covered my nose. He changed gloves between the amalgam removal part and putting in comoposites. The first tooth went well, I felt sort of "refreshed" after it, but during the second one I felt some water gathering behind the dam! After we were done he removed the dam, I rinsed my mouth with water and voila - amalgam partcles!:( I then immediately got foggy, and suprisingly it felt like the kind of fog that I experienced as a child - after having my amalgams put in, I think.

I want to also say that I myself used plenty of precaution - chlorella, vit e, selenium, liver herbs before the procedure, the same after plus vit c , enemas, coffee enemas, etc. The first week after the procedure I felt pretty lousy all over, fogginess increased, I was EXTREMELY agitated and nervous, I almost went as far as attempting suicide:( (which was out of character for me) and had difficulty breathing (mercury vapour in my lungs?). The next week was similair I think, albeit a bit better. But last week was extreme! I had terrible brain fog (zinc , selenium and garlic helped a bit), burning symptoms all over - inluding brain, my face and skin was red, I even started developing a very red-inflamed acne I haven't had for years. During the weekend I woke up without the burning symptoms and overwhelming fatigue, but with a terrible brain symptom. I felt completely 'out-there', my brain was stuck all over unable to exchange information, full disorientation yet surprisingly my TYPICAL brain fog all went away. I know you shouldn't be taking ALA after recent exposure, but I got frightened that it was the methylmercury in my brain so I took a small 20mg dose in the evening to see if it helps. Next day I felt as if part of my left hemisphere cleared up, but the right felt literally stuck - as if I had splinters there disallowing any impulses to pass!:( The felt 5 days felt similair, I took some cilantro but that doesn't help much either.

I'm sure it moved some mercury into my brain! It's as if I can't come out of the fog - and it doesn't feel like any brain fog I've had before, normally it felt like it was "all-over" my brain now it feels like it's IN my brain! I can't think straight, I don't even know if what I'm writing now makes any sense to you guys! My head suddenly feels "sparse", as if the brain has thinned out - I'm not saying it did, I probably partially say that because of subconscious awaraness of what mercury does to the brain - but that's what it feels like! I have this feeling - and hope it's only me paranoid - that the mercury is taking its toll in my brain!

Can someoene please tell me what's going on?? I already regret taking this ALA dose, but it was just once after the amalgam visit, and something else brought on this huge fogginess! Is this the mercury vapour that I'm feeling now, that I inhaled , it would make sense since I had these burning symptoms a week ago (plus brain fog, but not this type).

Strangely enough I feel my liver fucntion has improved in the last week, but these mental symptoms are horrid!

I'm afraid I might have permanent brain damage from it, is there any way I can REALLY protect my brain from this? I'm taking loads od antioxidants: vit E 400IU, C, selenium, zinc, drink potent green tea, take chokeberry extract (potent antioxidant), milk thistle (shown to protect the brain next to liver and kidneys), granulated lecithin, flaxseed oil, ginkgo bilobae, bacopa monieri, b vitamins, whey protein (since yesterday) + doing (coffee mainly) enemas and and anti candida diet - will they be enough to protect my brain cells even from mercury IN the brain? I don't want to end up a permanent moron even once I clear myself of mercury in the future.

I already feel like one. What should I do?! And does anybody know if the damage occurs on contact with mercury?

PLEASE HELP!

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. It is a sad reality but mercury is so unbelievably toxic that just being exposed to particles of amalgam during a removal can cause these types of symptoms.

The symptoms you're having sound typical of mercury and the timing certainly suggests that the removal event was the cause. Nevertheless, I have some suggestions that may help. I would only keep in mind that it may take time to recover from these issues because of the way mercury works.

I personally would not take vitamin B-12 at this time.

I would not take milk thistle at this time. It's an excellent supplement for the liver but if you're having these kinds of issues, because it detoxes the liver, it could contribute more toxic load to your body.

I would take magnesium to keep the digestive system moving and stop the coffee. Coffee seems to enable mercury to move through cell walls, according to what a researcher said. I also noticed increased mercury symptoms when having caffiene.

I would certainly not take ALA at this time. Again, another great supplement but not if you're already this toxic.

I would also keep sulphur low, so you may want to decrease or eliminate garlic.

The main idea here is to get yourself to stabilize and then to detox slowly. Of couse, it sounds as if you still have fillings so you likely cannot start a serious detox as of yet.

If I were in your position, I would continue taking (most of) what you're taking, I would drink lots of water, take magnesium and calcium, algin (very important), and try to sweat as much as possible.

I'm very sorry to hear what you're going through and I hope others can see how important it is to take all the precautions possible when having amalgams removed. This is highly toxic stuff—a very real poison—that does not belong in the human body.

Please keep us posted and be careful.

I hope things get better for you, Jinx. I understand the brain fog being that bad, and almost being suicidal. This past weekend was pure hell for me. It was a very, very dark place that I don't want to go back to anytime soon. I am supposed to go in Monday, and they might be taking some of mine out, so I'm not sure what kind of shape I will be in for Thanksgiving, 3 days later. I still have all of mine in, so i don't know what to expect out of myself.

Please keep us updated on how things are going, Jinx.

Definitely no B12, until your symptoms setttle down....and then I would avoid ALA until you get most of the superficial mercury out. And above all, avoid gluten, dairy and any sugars or foods that feed yeast, that will clog up your colon and also the yeast and sugar will methylate even more of the mercury.

Are you doing a candida diet, that is the [color:"red"] most [/color] important part of healing before and after amalgam removal. For a good diet and many great recipes, check out wholeapproach.com

My thoughts and prayers are with you, and feel better soon...

Hello again to everyone.

I want to thank everybody in the beginning for your support, you are truly one group of fantastic people. Russ - somehow I knew you would be the first one to give reply- thanks:) As well as to sandy and mommy.

I will cut to the point. As of today, I feel like a survivor. Yesterday, and this morning was one of my worst days in my life ever...

I was experiencning all of those symptoms I told you before for the last couple of days... saturday was the day when I kind of felt stabilized (I say kind of because it was still far from feeling at least remotely decently) - the cloud in my head wasn't as severe, I could keep in touch with people at least. I went to my sister's in the evening and after having come back I was dum enough to try some cake my mother made the day before... it was with sorbitol, instead of sugar, plus no yeast, just a little bit of wheat plus egg whites and cherries. The next morning -yesterday- I felt more foggy, but it wasn't as bad as before. And it's not like I never feel awful in the morning, so I attributed it to that. The day went on, I took a spoon of cilantro pesto, things kind of cleared up more. In the afternoon, my mother offered me that cake she made and was eating with my father... I gave in, and ate three piecies. Then IT began..

Within 20 minutes I felt angry and paranoid, I didn't know what was going on. As time passed I started to get more and more foggy and LOSING TOUCH WITH REALITY. I DESPERETALY tried to cling to sanity as I saw the inevitable happening.

With all of the brain fog types that I have experienced throughout the las two years (and I can say pretty much for sure i as in a permanent state of brain fog.. one or another) I always knew who I was, where I am, what the situtaion is, and what I am supposed to do. But NOT yeterday. I felt COMPLETELY LOST WITHIN MYSELF. I swear to God, if there's any way one can tell how a schizphrenia or Alzheimer feels like, THAT WAS IT! I had NO CONTROL over my body, nor actions, only flashes of reality in SOME parts of my brain reminded me of what was really happenng! I couldn't even understad what people where telling me, let alone comprehend any kind of more complex thought!

My dog died two months ago, having something with her brain, getting encephalopathy, and going round in circles, chasing her one tail. I felt similair! I kept going from room to room, not even knowing what I want to get out of it.

I took some selenium thinking it might help, since I have a mercurey problem. It was just a chunch call, not any analysis, as it was AS MUCH as i could afford for. Maybe it helped, but not much. Then I took zinc - it helped, but only once I took second. But still was feeling schizophreniquish. Recalled getting worse right after eating that cake, and getting better after taking zinc (which the liver needs to break down candida's acetaldehyde) so started drinking kefir... lots of it. Finally came somewhat back and was able to put myself to bed. Today I felt foggy again, but did an enema, and drank some kefir again, in the meantime shouting at my mother (she wanted me to cosult a psychiatrist asap, but I told her it wouldn't make sense). I then started drinking dandelion tea and felt my liver working and doing cleanups of my blood.

I came back! Better than I was the day I wrote that previous post, I think. But I feel completely rundown, I actually feel like I came from war, having seen horrible things... I feel like a survivor I guess. And I guess that's why I'm writing this to you, cause we go through different things, but yesterday I reached the bottom. It makes my want to cry everytime I think of that horror hours, I feel like I came back from the dead. But at the same time I feel kind of stronger, sustained. Ironic.

I guess that's all. I'm to exhausted to touch upon the medical/technical issues of what was really behind it all. I'm still recovering. Just wanted to share these things somewhere.

Stay strong guys. And thanks for you patience.

Mike

Hey Jinx

Sorry to hear what u are going through. i can honestly relate to these psychiatric effects, especially anger, and the fog.

I would seriously advise u quit taking the cilantro!

You seem to have attributed these effects to eating the cake, and yes it may have been a factor... but cilantro can be VERY dodgy for some of us, as it is a known mercury mobiliser. Its properties are not as yet fully understood.
For me anyway, the tiniest amount brings on seizures, paranoia and distorted thinking... can end up in a rage.

Selenium can also be dodgy for me. Having stopped supplements and brazil nuts some time ago, i tried an experiment the other day. I ate HALF a nut... few hours later, a right-side migraine started...pain has only just gone away. The seizures i had this afternoon actually kinda 'cleared' it up. Weird. But now theres a pain in the left side

Anyway, my point is that possibly u too are sensitive to either of these substances. Perhaps a careful record of daily supplements/foods and symptoms might help explain what is going on. [By the way, i know how damn hard it is to do 'logical' things like this, but i believe we do have that capacity protected somewhere in our brains.]

Just my thoughts on the matter, it helps to know we are not totally alone
