Hello, I have always read about the importance of selenium and vitamin C for people who are mercury toxic but when I read this article it seems to warn against taking too much of both of the vitamins as well as other ones, well thats how I read it, interested in anyones thoughts www.xs4all.nl/~stgvisie/AMALGAM/NL/SUPPLEMENTEN/selenium01.htmlJust makes things even more confusing lizbet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Hi Tracy, how are you? I just find all this really confusing. I have been taking Vitamin C regulary mainly to help adrenal function, but I have not taken much selenium cos it makes me feel a bit sick. Having said that I'm always reading about how its very important to take selenium and when I was browsing on the internet I found the article about selenium, soooo like I said I'm even more confused now.
Can you even take a normal multi vitamin or is that no good either?

That article said ALA decreased the excretion of organic mercury(which i think is correct). It didn't say inorganic mercury though.
I'm really confused about the vitamin c + b12 combination causing problems.

This article is odd to me. It seems to be pieced together and doesn't make sense. Cuttler's statement (inserted) doesn't go along with what has just been mentioned. The article mentions that excess B12, C selenium and candida will increase methyl mercury, but Cuttler mentions that mercury doesn't methylate once inside the body.
I would research further on this.

I dont know why but ive always had some sensitivity to meds and vits seem to be able to tolerate some B vits but I was reccommende C powder which has other vits in by the neurologist im going to see it made me quite ill i think its the c vit cos i came up as allergic to that on a vega test and ive never been able to eat oranges even when well without some sort of allergic reaction same with bananas. Im puzzled now or confused if Mercury dosent methylate in the body how does it enter the brain?
