A firend of mine is a dental assistant, they all wear uniforms at the dentist. Before they could wear their uniforms out and about when they left the dentist on their lunch hours or when they went home. Now however, they are not allowed to wear their uniforms outwith the dentists. I asked my friend why this was and I said I bet its to do with the mercury, she said "well yes among other things" They may be improving things like not wearing their uniforms out and about so as to stop spreading toxins etc, but why still then put it in peoples mouths, isn't that mad !!!!

I feel sorry for dental assistants, some of them are so young. I wonder how much ther are told. You may of read my post on a thread Lizbet, but a good friend of mine was a dental assistant 2o years ago . She was young and pretty. She deperately wanted a baby, but couldnt conceive. In the end she went to Harley Street where she found out she had lymphatic cancer and died 6 months later! coincidence?

Tracy, I'm so sorry you lost your friend that is very sad. I think in many years time it will finally come about about mercury fillings and what it has/is doing to people but no doubt that will be too late for a lot of people just like when they found out about asbestos! You would think these days that if there is any doubt regarding a health issue that goverments/health authorities etc would err on the side of caution and ban/stop things like mercury if there is any doubt regarding its affects on the public, but I guess that is too easy eh?!!
Are you feeling any better these days?

feeling pretty bad but I had a Melissa test Keith has rung the head office and she said they have a neurologist who lives near us who knows everything about heavy metal poisoning and how to de-tox and is trying to get me fixed up with her. Fingers crossed ay. Funny you mentioned about the asbestos. A builder friend of ours died of a brain tumour last year through asbestos poisoning and so it goes on even now. The whole site he worked on the year before was full of it and they wer'nt warned

I have a friend who worked in a dental office a couple years. Her job—among other things—was to mix the amalgam at the beginning of the day.
She now has MS and a brain tumor. She will not listen to me when I've attempted to tell her about mercury. Very frusterating.

I have a friend who works as a dental assistant. She tried very hard to get me to leave my amalgams in. Her dentist said that dentists who remove them were taking advantage of their patients. They even went on the internet and printed "information" about how safe amalgams are. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
In the end, I had them removed anyway and have never regretted the decision.
