I am in the same position as Clare at the moment. I think I had my amalgams done about 2 weeks before by the same dentist. Did anyone else suffer these symptoms for so long after? Tracy

What kind of procedure did your dentist use? I had 13 amalgams removed since this july, doing 2 at a time with rubber dam and oxygen mask and water jet over the tooth during drilling. He said he cut them in chunks (instead of grinding them into dust), but I don't know if that was true. Also, right after each visit I immediately changed and washed all clothes and took a long shower with sulfur soap and shampoo.
Last couple visits, though, I did get mild flue-like symptoms for couple days after the visit, so I halted the removals with this dentist. For the remining 4 amalgams I picked another dentist, an hour drive from my home, who specializes in mercury removal and detox. The previous dentist was just a regular dentist in my neighborhood who agreed to take them out using IAOMT procedure about which I told him and then showed him web site with description. So he was actually learning the procedure on me, which I am starting to realize may have been my mistake. Altogether though, the problems do seem fairly minor so far.

It takes a while, i only just feeling better a couple of weeks ago and its been over 7 mths for me. The body dumps mercury from the organs, etc into the blood after removal so i read. Youve turned off the mercury tap by getting the amalgam out but its in your body and you have to get it out. I only got a rubber dam for protection, i did mine gradually and after each visit i went home and washed my cloths and showered and washed my hair about 5 times incase there was mercury lingering about.
