Is Biodent, the maker of DiamondCrown, really going out of business? I don't want to spread a false rumor but it would definitely change my outlook on whether to get DiamondCrown fillings.

Hi there, I can't see how they'd be going out of business when some of the top biologic dentists use their products all the time (Diamond crown, Diamond Bond, Diamond link, Diamond lite).
So, not sure what to make of that. I've heard someone else say this also, yet dentists continue to use their products

If you read my post, you might see I said "some" top biologic dentists use those products. One being Dr Jacques Imbeau (top dentist in my country, has studied in Canada/Australia).
Another is a dentist used by Russ Tanner, Dr Ray Behm.
The top doctor in my country Dr Mike Godfrey, any dentist he's working with has to be one of the best also, always seems to use "once again" "Diamond products".
Dentists I have emailed online that were "supposedly" some of the very good biologic dentists seem to also use the diamond products also.
I cannot give you an entire list, I can't recall every dentist's name I've emailed on here that was "recommended" to me as being one of the top that mentioned Diamond as one of their main materials they liked using. I've emailed quite a few to try and ask about dental materials and cavitation work.
That is my experience, maybe not yours. Some, is not "many". There are many so-called biologic dentists in my country that use anything, so long as it's a white filling.
However, I don't necessarily feel that Diamond is the best either, I myself react to it, and have heard some others have also.

How do you know that you react to Diamond Crown? Do you know what ingredient in it you react to? What reaction did you get? Thanks.

Hi rick it's very hard for me to explain what happened and even then I still can't be sure. I had diamond crown put in 2003. About two weeks following, I ended up with heart palpiations, feeling scared and hyped up/excited and unable to calm down. I lost weight and just felt different, weird and not right.
I don't know if that's what caused it, possibly it may have been mercury vapor already in the dental office (though I had no amalgams at the time, just two old composites needing redoing), and/or the local anaesthetic may have been the problem. I will never know.
I had them removed and replaced, but didn't really get better. If anything things got worse, so I have no idea what happened and simply don't trust anything now.
Sorry I'm not more clear on this, but for me it's confusing also. I am too scared to ever get it regardless. Yet I hear others do just fine! So I really don't know.

I think it's possible that the teeth have a necrosys (You can't see with rx,) cused by a pulp infiltration. so not depending from Diamond Crown or from an amalgama. It's possible also a bad rooth therapy_ Diamond Crown is a good materials, here in Italy the distributor is DL Medica (Milan) . I'm a Dentist of Tourin, I've seen in my research that Diamond Crown (Pex is the materials) have a few Bibliography, instead of tha other Composites that have a lot of reserche, generally sponsorized from the big :::
