Recently I was at the hospital because i was injured and got a tetantus vaccination for protection. Later I found out that it is very likely that i contained thimerosal. I had my amalgam removed recently and now I fear that I could make my symptoms much worse.
The mercury in vaccinations is ethylmercury which is said to have a half life of 50 days in the human body. I didn't notice any 'side effects' after the vaccination and 4 weeks have passed but I am not sure if it has affected me. I already mercury toxic so I don't know if it has harmed me. Is it true that ethymercury has a very short half-life or is this just a claim of the pro-mercury vaccination lobby? Do you think this could be harmful to an adult? Do you know an adult that got worse after a mercury vaccination?

I know how you feel- because there may come a time where enforced vaccination may be pushed on all of us.
To err on the side of caution, if I were you, continue using your chelating stuff- like Algin, etc... and even add Butcher's Broom herb (which helps cleans out the blood vessels of plaque and heavy metals)
Because it was only one vaccination- and not like you had - like 5 or so in one week as some have had-- your body can detox it.
I know others will give you much better advice in detail - but for now, I would continue chelating- as the chelators should pull out that methyl mercury from the thimerasol as well as other mercury in your body.

Sorry, I know that can be scary. I've had nurses get irritated by my thimerosol questions and insistance on seeing the ingredients, because I was scared of it.
Thimersol can be harmful to anyone because of the mercury in it. But you needed the vaccination at the time, so there's not much that you could have done. I think that as Boldylocks said, continuing chelation would be a good idea. I don't have any advice on what type of chelation to do, but hopefully some others will chime in on this. Do you have a doctor that is currently treating you for mercury? If so, I would check in with him/her and see what they advise.
Take care, ~Tia

In response to the first question in this thread... In short, I believe this is part of the "pro-mercury" misinformation. Mercury binds tightly with sulphur-rich tissue and organs and your body is full of sulphur, particularly in the form of amino acids (cysteine, for example). Ethylmercury is expecially dangerous because it passes through cell walls very efficiently whereas elemental mercury does not; It has to gain a methyl group first (not hard to do). Anyway, I would recommend that anyone who wants to know how often a tetanus shot is actually needed shoud watch the best vaccine information DVD I've ever seen: Vaccines: Risks, Benefits, Choices There's a whole lot you're not being told about vaccines, and it's all from mainstream medical literature. I've loaned this to several friends and this video was the beginning of a dramatic education for them. It is, "the red pill". --- Morpheus: I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole? Neo: You could say that. Morpheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he's expecting to wake up. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo? Neo: No. Morpheus: Why not? Neo: 'Cause I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life. Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know, you can't explain. But you feel it. You felt it your entire life. That there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there. Like a splinter in your mind -- driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about? Neo: The Matrix? Morpheus: Do you want to know what it is? (Neo nods his head.) Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere, it is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window, or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, or when go to church or when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. Neo: What truth? Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. Morpheus: You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. Remember -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more.

I like those lines from The Matrix, Russ. There is a lot of truth in them relating to this world. I'm not sure if I would have ever realized that if I hadn't gotten sick. The original Matrix is an amazing movie. It contains a lot of truth that most people don't see right away. Of course, the next two movies in the series somewhat miss the point, but the first movie stands on it's own.
The Wachowski brothers—who made The Matrix—also made another recently-released move called "V Is For Vendetta". It also contains deep truths about human nature and the struggle for freedom, although it does skew on a point or two, it is one of the most intelligently-written scripts I've ever seen in terms of deeper self-analyzing human truths, relationships, and politics. I would not have understood the depth of this script unless I had worked with a political party (min 90s).
Not a compelling love story, although it tries to be, nevertheless, it's worth a rental.
Quotes:
V: [Evey pulls out her mace] I can assure you I mean you no harm.
Evey Hammond: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
Evey Hammond: Oh. Right.
V: But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona.
V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. [carves V into poster on wall]
V: The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
[giggles]
V: Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.
Evey Hammond: Are you like a crazy person?
V: I am quite sure they will say so.
---
V: Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption.
I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there?
Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.
How did this happen?
Who's to blame?
Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease.
There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.
Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten.
More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives.
So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.

Just heard something interesting. My sister works for a doctors office, and they got their flu shots in and were scheduling them. I was talking to her about my mercury detox and she said, "Speaking of mercury." "We just had to call all of our patients who were pregnant or children to cancel their flu vaccines. We found out that the shots that they sent us had MERCURY in them." Well, I was floored. Just because they admitted that it was dangerous enough to cancel any shots for pregnant women and children. It's not ideal, but it's a start.

Not only that, but the flu vaccines only protect you from about 3 of the hundreds of flu strains. According to Dr. Tenpenny, 97% of those who were got the flu (or were hospitalized with the flu, if I remember correctly) in 2005 had been vaccinated with the flu shot. Statistically, you're better off without it; Much better off. You'd be much better off keeping your immune system strong, as mercury—which is in the flu shot—is well-known to suppress the immune system.
