Last thursday I got the final four mercury fillings removed and now I feel so crazy I don't know what to do. I started with thirteen. I felt great the day after, but now I feel angry, violent, unstable, depressed, tearful, and so many other things I can't even name them. I don't want to be around people. Don't want to talk. I'm going to take some magnesium, hope it helps.

Hi Alison, you'd have been exposed to a massive amount of mercury vapor during removal. Even with protection, it's not always avoidable and can make a person feel much worse.

If mercury is what it is? You will start to improve. It's when you have too many issues in the body at once, that you can be in big trouble if your body cannot concentrate on detoxing mercury from too many other health challenges.

Make sure you're on a good candida diet. This can take some load off your gut and liver and encourage your body to eliminate and heal.

Consider mercury chelation to try and reduce the mercury that will be probably rampaging through your system after all this. Diet would be the first thing I'd do at this point, or at any point. No sugar, no yeast, no gluten grains, preferably no milk or fruit due to natural sugars (potatoes also) and concentrate on vegetables, meats, eggs, some raw nuts (almonds, brazil), acidophilus plain yoghurt etc and no tea or coffee, herb tea is ok, water etc.

It sounds plain and very boring, but when you reach a point of being so ill, sometimes it can be theonly thing to hold you remotely together. It's not a cure for many of us who are just too toxic, but it can help.

Supplements I'd get woudl be vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, B complex, magnesium, milk thistle can help the liver. But use small amounts so as not to overhwelm your system.

I'd also take hot baths, and use epsom salts or sea salt and baking soda. Have it hot to where you can still tolerate the heat, not to where you feel faint, but enough to get your body temperature up and the epsom salts, or the baking soda and sea salt should encourage sweating and eliminating of some toxins via the pores of your skin. You can rinse or shower off afterwards.

Sounds plain and simple, but those are the basics. Not sure what else to suggest.

I'm nearly 5 months post amalgam removal and I'm definately on that rollercoaster ride. I've just had a horrendous 2 weeks. Depression, extreme tiredness, not wanting to be around people, angry outbursts and on the verge of tears all the time. Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore and couldn't see the point in living in this hell I started to feel better a couple of days ago and have now started to come out the other side.
It's definately true though: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Hang in there everyone. We will survive and be better people for it.
Sending healing thoughts to all. xx

I'm getting everything in order so that I can take care of myself properly. Thankfully I'm in a position where I can rest alot during the day.I have some support from the people near me.Even a woman that had fibro-myalgia and removed all her mercury, then it cleared up completely. I'm trying to remain greatful for what I have. That you all for your words of encouragement and help.

allisonwonder,

I had the same reaction after my removal... I felt great the next day and then had horrible ups and downs for months. Of course, the ups became more frequent and the downs less frequent and now I'm all better and life is actually good again.

For anyone who has amalgams removed properly and has bad reactions after, I would say this is generally a good sign; A sign that body chemistry is changing and the body is beginning to mobilize and eliminate mercury rather than harboring it.

For those who have had mercury removed improperly and had a lot of exposure, this could be a sign of exposure during the removal combined with what I just mentioned above.

I strongly encourage people not to be discouraged (hmmmm) after removal but to continue through expecting the best in due time. It took me months before the rollar coaster ride began to subside, but the ride was certainly well worth the recovery.

Thank you Russ,I am really sick and I am trying to keeping it in mind that this is temporary.I read all of the postings on this site for inspiration.I think I feel a bit overwhelmed by Andy Cutlers book and wanting to chelate exactly right. My experiences from the mercury have been sooooo confusing. Mainly psychiatric symptoms. With many medications that only made me worse. I am afraid to chelate. Afraid of my symptoms getting much worse and me not being able to afford my life expenses. Can someone effectively chelate with ALA and a candida diet? Or is this considered not enough? I will of course be taking all the vitamins and other supplements. I went to a carnival this evening and met a man that had twelve teeth pulled that had amalgams in them.He has ALS and didn't want to be exposed to anymore mercury by way of drilling. He was recomending some sort of cleanse called "sunnies cleanse #7".Eveybody I speak to seems to have some crazy way to get mercury out.Mr.Cutler calls all these cleanses "witch doctor" cures.I am going to rest for a week or so and then start some sort of chelating.I haven't decided exactly what, but I will continue researching.I just want to quiet my thoughts for awhile. This is alot to think about. I have got to get past this being afraid part and find some strength.

HI Alison, you can chelate on ALA alone. You do not need DMSA or DMPS, they are optional. They are only used in the beginning to help reduce the blood/urine levels faster and more effectively than the person would do on their own.

ALA can be used, so long as it's 3 months after any mercury exposure, and not before.

ALA is necessary for chelation, DMSA etc are optional. You can use that and get well and be on the candida diet at the sametime.

Both should help.

But isn't it more efficient and healthier to do it along with DMSA?

Yes, I think it can be more stable to use DMSA along with ALA. It can help with side effects in some people and does increase the removal of mercury a bit more also.

But it is not crucial and some people do not tolerate DMSA, some cannot afford it, so they can just use ALA alone and do fine on it.

TGoss, a guy on here uses ALA alone as far as I know and is healing (well he was doing ok last I heard) on this. He was using about 40 mg or so, every 3 hours around the clock.
