I originally had a hair mineral analysis test but I've since heard that it's not the most reliable test to have done. I then had a Kelmer urine test done and took the results to my doctor. He couldn't understand them so phoned a heavy metal specialist in my area who said that Kelmer tests are highly unreliable. I then has a lymphocyte sensitivity blood test done at Biolab in London. I think that this is the best as it accurately tells you how sensitive you are to mercury (you can have other heavy metals tested as well) My results showed that I was highly sensitive to mercury so then knew I had to have my amalgams removed.
