Hi there, I've been int he same darned predicament recently. I got a flu virus, the worst I've known and ended up with infection in my throat and coughed all night simply from a tickle in my throat. I had headaches from teh infection, and disgusting coloured mucous. I was in a desperate condition.

weeks of it. Finally I went and got antibiotics. I had to. I took them for a week. One tablet three times a day and yes it got rid of the infection. But I was left totally and utterly beaten. Not sure if it was a post viral syndrome, OR combined with the antibiotic use, I was a total mess.

I went on and on like this and it's only now where things are beginning to come right. It tooks weeks following it. I had to also watch my diet and avoid sugar, yeast, gluten, which feed yeast (hence increase the bacteria problem int eh body and hinder immunity and healing). I had to take the good supplements (antioxidants) and simply wait it out, the most horrible fatigue Ive knowna nd feeling drowsy and swollen tongue etc.

It is beginning to abate, but diet must have helped. So sometimes you cannot always avoid antibiotic use, you don't fool around with an infection, or that in itself will create a massive strain on your body if it is prolonged.

However, here is a recent suggestion I was given and if you still want to hold out and try something before finally getting on antibitoics, here is a suggestion -
Sore throat?

Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey

and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

If this does not work, I'm sorry but you may need to get on antibiotics and bite the bullet.

If that is how it has to be, all you can do is get on a candida diet, keep yeast as low as possible and eat organic healthy acidophilus yoghurt to help the good bacteria in your body, as the antibiotics will wipe it out along with the bad bacteria.

You may need probiotics to help too. But sometimes it's simply a matter of time and doin what you can to eat well and waiting it out.

P.S. one important tip. If you do get antibiotics? And you're on the typical 1 tablet, three times a day, make sure you take them with 8 hour breaks between doses. E.g. taking one tablet at 6 am, one at 2 pm, and one at 10 pm. Reason for this is, if the doses are taken too close together during the day, then you have nothing all night, the infection sometimes cannot be gotten on top of. And a person can go througha course of antibiotics with NO improvement because of this one small problem. We are not told this by doctors, adn they often hand out another round of antibiotics to a bewildered desperate patient who can't figure out why the last round didn't work.

This is often the key. Spread the doses out with the 8 hours intervals. taht way you'r enot having one at say 10 am, one at 3 pm, and one at 6 pm and finding you then have a large amount of time with no more doses from 6 pm till 10 am the next morning, which leaves far too much time and the infection can flare back up within that time.

Hope that helps a bit.
