going on hydrocortisone is something that needs careful consideration, and above all, proper testing. There is always the issue of adrenal suppression with taking hydrocortisone. However, it is likely that your adrenals are already suppressed and not producing enough cortisol, which is why you feel like you do, so you would simply be replacing what your body can't produce because of the mercury. I know - I was there at the beginning of the year. When your adrenals don't produce enough cortisol they produce adrenalin, which can make you very jumpy, and make sleeping almost impossible. Hypoglycemia is probably just around the corner ....

I would urge you to get proper testing done, and read up on adrenal fatigue before you start taking HC. It can be ordered over the internet. In the meantime I would take some glandulars like these

I took the strongest (Adreno Lyph Plus) and they got me out of bed at Christmas time. I then took Isocort, which contains 2.5mg of cortisol per tablet. This can be ordered over the internet. Start on the weakest forms of adrenal support and work up according to your need. I personally am on the strongest - 6.5mg of Prednisolone. I would be bedridden without it.

I remember taking my first 5mg of hydrocortisone the day I visited my endocrinologist. I had been running on adrenalin all day, and was shaking like a leaf. 5mg of HC calmed me right down and I was able to sleep. When you take HC you are simply replacing what the body cannot produce itself, but you need to be informed about the choices and consequences of steroid treatment. It can suppress your adrenals if you take too much, but if you don't take it, and your body needs it, you will take MUCH longer to recover, and be much more debilitated. These are things that you need to weigh up before you start taking HC.

Have you had your thyroid checked? The adrenals also get exhausted from trying to support the metabolism when the thyroid is underperforming, and treating the thryoid is another important way of taking the strain off the adrenals, but thyroid / adrenals must be treated concurrently. No thyroid treatment without adrenal support! With weak adrenals like yours, taking thyroid hormone would probably crash them. HC / thyroid treatment is recommended by Andy Cutler.

Been there, own the T shirt. Hope this helps.
