Save your money and don't have the tests done. You already know that you have TMJ and that is all the test will determine. I do think that you should correct this and improve your ability to open your mouth wider for your own comfort and reduced pain afterward.
Start taking magnesium. There are several forms, but the good ones are glycinate, taurate, ionized, and citrate (this one can cause loose stools if you take as much as you will need-it brings water into the colon which is a plus if you are constipated). Reccommended for hg people is 600-800 mg or more in divided doses. Best time is at night (will help you sleep too) and in the morning.
I did this after my dentist told me that I would have to have a mouth guard ( Ididn't want one) and I no longer have TMJ. My friend started taking magnesium and her dentist actually asked her what she was taking so that he could reccommend it to his other patients with TMJ.
TMJ is caused by a magnesium deficiency. Mg is necessary for the muscles to relax. Mercury blocks you mg. That is why you are deficient. You will find that you will feel much better in many other ways too with taking mg. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
