Hi there. While you wait to get your amalgams out, magnesium is a really good supplement to take. Other ones suggested by Andy in his book (for anyone, amalgam free or not) is Vitamin C, Vitamin E, milk thistle, magnesium, B complex, Zinc (are some basics). He suggests that B complex and Vitamin C and I think magnesium and milk thistle are used about 3-4 times a day to be effective. The other stuff can be taken once or twice or whatever. Selenium is optional also, it can help many people and the best form to use is selenimethione (something like that, I can't spell it perfectly).

He also suggests organic flax seed oil for the omega 3. LIke about a tablespoon a day (mixed in yoghurt or cottage cheese).

The candida diet is pretty essential. Candida can actually cause a lot of problems with and outside of the mercury. Some people have mercury but suffer very badly from candida and do not realise that IT could be causing many of the symptoms they are attributing to the mercury instead.

Don't get me wrong, mercury is usually at the bottom of it all but it allows the yeast to overgrow and cause it's own problems, so it's very hard to tell which one of them is doing what to you and you will never know until you get the yeast under some form of control.

Also, you can absorb nutrients better when you get yeast under control and it helps the immune system, gut and liver and all those things needed to help you cope better, but also help you deal with the mercury more, and eliminate better when you attempt to chelate.

The diet most recommended is one that is completely sugar free, yeast free and gluten free (no wheat, rye, barley or oats) and often fruit free and milk free (though still have a bit of milk or fruit if they don't have too bad a case of candida).

Potatoes can be a problem because of the high starch and of course the natural sugar inthem can feed candida. Honey is a no no also.

The foods to eat really are meat, vegetables, plain acidophilus yoghurt, raw nuts (almonds, brazil), eggs and including the good fats like butter, extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil and eating the fat on meat is fine.

Those fats are actually very important and very healing and there is a candida website I belong to that is very good, but it is HIGHLY HIGHLY STRICT. Moreso than what I suggested.

But she has a wealth of information in the files and links section of her forum - here is the link to the forum if you wnat to check it out - http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/candidasupport/ and it's incredible what you read on there. She claims that on her diet, with the recommended fats and protein, people are chelating heavy metals out of their bodies and I admit many people are improving, BUT I do not agree with this entirely. I have argued with her about it and she basically told me that the subjected was CLOSED. So I left it at that.

Someone on there who follows the diet with those fats, claims she is healing from mercury and since she started doing all that, her hair test shows more metals were coming out and being excreted.

What does one believe? Well, I wouldn't rely on any diet personally, but obviously it is extremely good to be on and doing andy's protocol at the same time would be probably the best bet.

I'm not sure if you know, but there is a forum with people all doing andy cutler's protocol and has info on there about him and his chelating protocol and people discussing it and how they're going and all giving support and further advice. Andy gets on there himself on occassion. But there are many highly informed people on there that know their stuff.
