lately, my puppy ( well dog but he's so small I think of him as a puppy) he's had seizure like episodes. He's 5 and he's a terrier chihuahua mix. The doctor gave me a medicine to treat it, red syrup I feed him at morning and at night, but the doctor said there is no set recovery time or even a guarantee that the tremors will stop. Does anybody have a pet with epilepsy or another disease that causes seizure and has any word of wisdom for me?

Have you tried having puppy's neck adjusted by a Chiropractor?

Does this animal have exposure to heavy metals, like mercury or arsenic? Treated lumber contains arsenic. Info on Treated Wood You may want to try mixing a little Algin in with meals to protect against heavy metals and see if there is progress after 15 to 30 days.

Any chance this puppy got into some chocolate? My dad's dog got into some and the after effects were seizure like twitches and spasms but only during her sleep. I had the dog tested with kinesiology, and she tested for a food enzyme formula with bile salts. She gets one capsule every other day, she's stopped begging for food everyday, she lost a little weight, and I'm waiting to hear when her spasms stop. Also useful is The KI Method for seizures, in people you hold both thumbs to stop a seizure in progress, or even ahead of time to help prevent. So in a puppy I guess you could hold the two front paws, one in each of your hands. their website is www.kinginstitute.org and a free sample/handout can be found at /sequences.html

I have heard of immunizations giving puppies epilepsy. Also, I have heard of a raw food diet curing seizure activity in dogs. The specific diet I am talking about is the BARF diet which means Bones and Raw Food. Raw food and bones is the animal's natural diet and raw means that the enzymes, important for digestion and extracting all the nutrients are there to be used by the dog. You can find this diet on the internet. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
