The type of explanation you're looking for would need to be answered by someone who has studied the science behind amalgam poisoning (like a biochemist).
You'll be disappointed on here, unless someone I don't know has this scientific knowledge. I wish I did.
A book you might be very interested in reading and is written by a biochemist who has studied mercury poisoning extensively and tells you what it does inside the body, everywhere it goes etc is called "Amalgam Ilness, Diagnosis and Treatment". He really does go into the science behind it.
The author is Andrew Hall Cutler. For the life of me, I coudl never leaf through half the stuff he's talking about and understand it, I just read the book for the other things like what supplements to take, how to chelate safely and properly and his reasons for the way he advises chelation. He's very scientific. but a lot of it, is over my head.
I don't know if I'm naturally a bit thick, or I have too much mercury in my brain. I like to blame the mercury <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
