Yes mercury can cause suicidal thoughts. You can have a one of exposure to mercury and be poisoned from it. Depending on where the mercury went, it may remain where it is until it is chelated out.

There are a lot of reasons why the mental impact of mercury can be as bad as it is. Not just the direct effects of mercury, but by the indirect effects from it messing things up in your body but also making you suseptible to many other problems (viral infections, yeast infections, allergies etc).

You can be suicidal also from the fact you could have candida as well as mercury. Candida is a yeast infection and will add to the mercury toxicity and cause it's own problems on its own, let alone combined with mercury.

First of all, if I were you? I would get on a candida diet FAST. This means eliminating all sugar, all yeast and all gluten from your diet. (gluten is found in grains like wheat, rye, barley, oats). You may also need to limit your fruit intake and milk (or eliminate them for a while), due to their natural sugars. This means limiting potatoes also because of the starch.

It may sound annoying and rather extreme at first, but this alone can help a great deal in symptoms and is crucial for most mercury toxic people. Most of us have high yeast levels in our body because our immune system, due to being poisoned is not able to keep the yeast at a reasonable level. IF you follow this diet, your body will have some chance of reducing the levels of yeast and can allow for symptom improvement. For some? it can make a DRAMATIC difference.

To give you an example - I have had mercury poisoned for years. I did not know about mercury at the time, but did feel poisoned. I suffered from severe depression and suicidal thoughts all the time. I ate like anybody else and never attributed any of my symptoms to candida and didn't know it existed. I was put on many antidepressants and nothing worked, I just suffered side effects. Finally, when all else failed I was put on a candida diet. I did not enjoy this at all and at first I felt very ill on it. Many toxins began to shift and move out of my body and I had some headaches and other symptoms. I stuck with it regardless, but had cravings for sometime. Finally once the yeast was starved, it began to die and my body disgarded it. I improved dramatically from this diet and my depression lifted, suicidal thoughts literally disappeared.

Although I still had symptoms of mercury, I was able to eliminate some symptoms and lessen others and coped far easier.

Sadly, nowadays? I have had things happen in recent years that have heard me badly and my immune system is rock bottom (viral infections, cavitations in jawbone and other issues). So I don't get the same improvements, though the diet for me is still crucial.

If you don't do the diet, you will be worse than you have to be and won't know what is doing what. This is one avenue that you have control over. You may not have control over the mercury, but you do have control of diet.

Do not end your life, give your body a chance to have some of the burden taken off it. It may not be miraculous, but it might be enough to improve you.

I would also purchase a book called "Amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment", by Andrew Hall Cutler. You can get this off the internet. This is a book I would recommend to anybody with what you have. He goes through all of the problems mercury can cause, what it does, where it goes in the body and what to do about it. Also talks about suicidal thoughts and there are suggestsions in his book about depressions and all these things and what can be taken. Goes into detail about that.

Chelation is a very wise thing to do. If it's done safely. Some symptoms can be controlled and improved as you are chelating.

But this book has pretty much everything in it. The only thing missing is the candida diet, which SHOULD have been mentioned as it is essential.

If you're already doing the diet, then I would read this book and find out what you can do to help these persistant symptoms.

I wish I could help you more. I know how you feel, I suffer this nearly all the time and am on the edge almost continually. I hope you can hang in there and not feel too overwhelmed, but see if you can do some of these things.

(yes you can also start to reduce the mercury in your body/brain. The book mentions how to go about this also). I can outline for you if you don't wish to get the book, but it has so much else in it about what to do when depressed/suicidal and all sorts of things to do and take.
